The medicine is issued in the form of capsules or vaginal subpozitories at the Russian company Vertex ROS. As auxiliary substances, the composition of the preparation includes wheat starch, hypromelose, some other substances.

In the pharmacy, the medicine can be found in the form of hard yellow-brown capsules, each containing 100 mg of the drug "Itrazol". The instruction explains that the capsules can be sold in contoured honeycomb packs or polymer cans.

The drug is effective in treating diseases caused by yeast-like or common fungi, dermatophytes. Among them are Histoplasma sp, Cryptococcus neoformans, Cladosporium spp., Candida spp., Sporothrix schencki, and other microorganisms.

"Itrazole", the instruction explains this, is very well absorbed from the stomach, and already after 4 hours it accumulates in the blood plasma as much as possible. Particularly well, the drug is absorbed after a meal: it increases its bioavailability.

"Itrazol", the instruction also explains this, it is better to accumulate in the liver, kidneys, bones, than in the plasma. Tissues holding keratin, accumulate it even better. It penetrates well through all tissues, including through the mucous membrane of the vagina. It is this that makes possible the use of a medicament for the treatment of a wide variety of diseases. "Itrazole" is prescribed for treatment:

  • Vulvovaginal candidiasis
  • Offshoot lichen
  • Oral candidiasis
  • Dermatomycosis smooth skin
  • Fungal keratitis
  • Fungal skin of the palms, feet, scalp

"Itrazole", the instruction warns, it is impossible to accept without recommendations of the doctor. It is able, especially with prolonged treatment, to cause negative side reactions that can worsen the general condition of the body. What are the complications of "Itrazol"? Patients' comments indicate constipation or diarrhea, stomach pain, abdominal pain. Doctors know of rare cases of anorexia, provoked by the drug. Sometimes, especially against the background of the use of other drugs in conjunction with "Itrazol", liver damage can occur. However, such cases are extremely rare. More often there is a dizziness, fatigue, malfunctions of a monthly cycle at women. If there is even a single symptom, the doctor must review the treatment regimen or cancel the drug.

Absolutely contraindicated "Itrazol", the instruction tells in detail about it, only to people undergoing treatment with drugs "Pimozid", "Simvastin" and others from this group. But it is prescribed with caution to pregnant women and people prone to allergic reactions.

The drug is rarely prescribed to children, patients with renal, cardiac or liver failure.

Is it possible to replace "Itrazole"? An analogue of the Russian drug called "Orukal" is produced in Belgium. There are also similar Russian "Itramikol", "Rumikoz", "Irunin", "Orungamin", Indian "Kanditral".

Just like "Itrazole," they are derived from the substance Triazole. Their action consists in the fact that the substance introduces destruction into the synthesis of ergosterol, thus stopping the vital activity of the intercellular membrane of the mold, yeast and common fungi.

When treating "Itrazol" and its analogues, it is very important to follow the correct course and dosage. Drink the drug for 12 capsules once a day, but the timing of treatment is different. So treatment of highly keratinized parts of the skin can take more than 30 days, and for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis , one-time intake of the drug is sufficient. Dermatomycosis smooth skin, lichen, some of the candidiases require for their treatment a week.

Any course of treatment is adjusted taking into account the improvements that have occurred.
