Indications for use

In the form of a solution intended for parenteral use, the drug is administered to patients with hypertensive crisis, arterial hypertension (refractory, severe). In order to lower blood pressure before and after surgery, the Ebrantil injection solution is also used. Tablets are a dosage form that is not characteristic of a given medication, but Ehrrantil capsules are manufactured, which are indicated for use in the case of hypertension.

Form of issue and composition

As already noted, the preparation is produced in the form of capsules (in vials of 50, 100 units) and solution for injections (in ampoules of 5, 10 ml). One capsule contains 30 or 60 mg of urapidil, and 1 ml of the solution contains 5 mg.

Instructions for use show capsules to be taken during meals inside, completely swallowed and washed down with liquid in small amounts. To achieve constant control of blood pressure, you need to drink the medicine at the same intervals. The dose is set by the doctor. For a gradual decrease in blood pressure, the medication "Ebrantil" is usually prescribed (the instruction for use includes this information) in an amount of 30 mg twice a day. If there is a need for an early onset of the therapeutic effect, the dose is increased to 60 mg. Maximum of 180 mg is allowed per day. Solution "Ebrantil" (instruction for use indicates that the dosage of injections is chosen by a physician) is injected intravenously, it is also possible to carry out continuous and continuous infusions. In parenteral form, the drug is allowed to be used for a week, then you should go to the medication orally or choose another antihypertensive drug.

Adverse events

Very rarely in the process of therapy, negative effects develop. In isolated situations, the appearance of such undesirable phenomena as thrombocytopenia, heart rhythm disturbances, angina pectoris, severe lowering of blood pressure, orthostatic hypotension. There is also a risk of nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, dizziness, high fatigue, sleep disorders, headaches, unreasonable anxiety. Allergic reactions can develop: erythema, urticaria, anaphylactic shock.

Contraindications

Means "Ebrantil" is not prescribed for people who have intolerance included in the ingredients, as well as patients with galactosemia, lactase deficiency. Injection solution is not used to treat patients with aortic stenosis. In pediatric practice, medicament is not used.
