The chicken in the jar. It's not a recipe, but a method of preparation

In our hectic year and the food requires a quick preparation, and not a long fuss, especially since most housewives come home from work late. Therefore, simple dishes from chicken, other meat and vegetables have become firmly established in our everyday life. But still the soul asks not fast food. And then we are helped out by the dishes, fast in preparation, but surprisingly tasty and nutritious. If you have a good oven in your house, which heats up gradually, you can cook one of them. Culinary talents, it requires minimal, it can cook even a child.

The dish is called "Chicken in the bank". This means that we will not cook the bird entirely on a container with water - it's a completely different recipe, namely in the middle of a glass container. Therefore, the rule must be observed: the oven must be heated slowly.

In electric furnaces, high temperatures are reached very quickly, and the glass can burst. By the way, it happens that the bank is split due to defects.

Thoroughly inspect the 3 liter container: it should not contain cracks and bubbles. Wipe it dry.

Now let's take care of the meat. A chicken in a jar can be cooked from a carcass, but if you do not want to tinker with a chopping, you can only take wings or paws. The main thing is that the portioned pieces freely fit into the neck of the dishes. We wash them and carefully dry them with a kitchen towel. Solim and pepper to your taste. Put the meat in the jar.

If you are dealing with a carcass, put down the breast without the bone. When the bottom is covered, we put one or more garlic cloves cut along the top. Cover them with a new layer of chicken and again lay garlic.

Do this until the chicken in the jar fills the container by two-thirds. At the top, put a laurel leaf and a few peas of sweet pepper. Close the container with a metal cover (do not forget to remove the elastic band!) Or tightly wrap the hole with foil. Put the jar in a frying pan or baking sheet in an absolutely cold oven. First set the temperature at 150 ° C. In half an hour you can risk increasing it to 180 ° C. Thus it is necessary to bake the bird for an hour and a half. Do not open the oven door. Even when you turn off the fire, allow the dish to cool gradually.

Why is a chicken in a bank considered a culinary method, not a recipe? Because there are many ways of making a bird in a glass container. Do not confine yourself to garlic - you can put a variety of vegetables between the layers of meat: tomatoes, bell peppers, marinated onions rings, chopped cabbage. Would you like a little exotics? Try to put between the layers of chicken orange slices and a mug of lemon. You can before you send the bird to the jar, slightly marinate it in honey and soy sauce.

This method can be used to prepare a variety of dishes from chicken and potatoes. To be safe, you can pre-boil large chopped pieces of potatoes in salted water until half cooked. Then they dry and cool. Further, as the fantasy dictates or that allows the family budget: you can add fresh mushrooms, except potatoes and meat, and you can restrict yourself to only modest vegetables (carrots, onions, garlic) and herbs (parsley, dill). In any case, this dish will be more dietary, since cooking does not require fat. If desired, from the juices formed from the chicken, you can prepare a sauce.
