The first cadet schools in Russia call garrison schools. They appeared in the beginning of the XVIII century and taught children elementary sciences and military skills. This craft has survived to our time, and even now the cadet's oath is actual and honorable. In tsarist times the military profession was in demand and prestigious.

After 25 years in the service it was possible to count on assistance from the state in the form of a land plot and a material allowance. For special merit even gave the title of nobility. Now the situation has changed somewhat, but, as before, every military man can be sure that he will always have a job, since the Motherland always needs defenders.

Cadet Corps

Kadetstvo is called upon to prepare young people for a military career. The advantage of such training is the formation of the child's independence and love for the Motherland. So, the cadet is a person who appreciates traditions, educates in himself various dignities and purposefully forms a cultural and patriotic personality. Friendship plays a significant role.

Now on the territory of Russia there are two popular directions of such schools: the Nakhimov School and the Suvorov Military School. The first produces marine professionals, the second - experts on land.

Origins

The progenitor of the Cadets can be called medieval heroes. And the first so-called Cadet School is a knight camp. Start military educational institutions gave knight academies, where the venerable warriors taught young men the art of fencing and riding. Such a flow originated in Naples, and from there it migrated to France and England.

Such knowledge allowed young people to show their courage in all sorts of tournaments and performances. But this was available only to the nobles. Later, mathematics, fortification, drawings and even artillery were added. Peace time has brought its own corrections. If earlier the title could be obtained only during the battle, then from the XVII century the officer rank was given by seniority. It was then that the Cadet title arose.

From the French language the word "cadet" is the younger one. From Prussian - a young man whose life is connected with military affairs. Rich noblemen sent their children to serve in military schools in order to gain time. Cadets received the title much earlier than their peers.

First schools

The direction begins its history from the distant 1653. A military school was founded for wealthy children, the conditions of which differed significantly from the ordinary system. In 1716, the Cadet Corps was built. It was a boarding school, where alongside with the program of an educational institution mastery of military affairs was introduced.

Oddly enough, the head of the students was a four-year-old boy, the son of King Frederick William I. At that time, the highest representatives of society were allowed to receive the rank of "cadet" from the cradle. Subsequently, the little general grew up in the glorious commander of Frederick the Great. It was on the board of this man that much was done in the field of the study of the theory of military art.

History of the Cadets of Russia

The founder of military educational institutions on the territory of the Russian Empire was Peter I. In 1698, under his leadership, earned the "School of the tsifiri and land surveying." Then, in 1701, a school of mathematical and navigational sciences was established. But the first and the second became just the foundation for the emergence of a separate trend - the Cadets of Russia.

Peter the Great was a supporter of geodesy, and the main vocation of these schools was to teach the boys the theory of mapping. Earlier, children were sent to Europe for quality knowledge. But later it was too costly for the empire. It was this principle that initiated the creation of military institutions of different directions.

So, in 1721 the first garrison schools were built, which in character resembled the Cadet Corps. They took the sons of soldiers. From 7 to 15 years they studied military science, and then served in the army. The initiator was Count Mikhailov, who arrived in Russia at the invitation of Peter I to manage the engineering process. The people called such schools "knight academies." Indeed, young people were taught not only literacy, but also high aesthetic sciences.

In general, the main reason why it was popular to send children to closed schools was that they were given good knowledge and a good start for professional growth.

Craft development

Subsequently, a plan for changes in the mainstream of military training was developed. Institutions were distributed to different cities of the empire. In the middle of the XIX century, the cadet is a guy who received military training along with general knowledge. He could continue to serve in the rank of officer. Thus, from among the students, the Cadets sharply turned into leaders. Every day they were trained in drill training, and then they showed the results before the king.

But along with strict discipline in closed schools often there were unpleasant events connected with the permissiveness of the senior in rank and in age. Often such clashes led to riots.

At one time on the territory of the Russian Empire worked more than 40 such schools.

What the Cadets are Studying

Today, the cadet is primarily a high school student, but with special subjects added to the curriculum. On average, the training period is 3 years. But there are schools where the term of education is much higher and can reach 6 years. Most often children are taken after the end of the 9th grade. Depending on the building, there are institutions that work with younger children, starting with the 5th.

Before deciding which school to go to, you still need to decide not only with age, but also with the direction that the school will teach. Particular attention is paid to gymnastics and physical training. Additional classes are engineering, medicine, topography and military regulations. An important role in the education of the Cadets is assigned to the aesthetic deviation. Also, according to the body to which the disciple belongs, he can study specific sciences. In the 21st century both boys and girls can enter the cadets equally easily.

Weekday Cadets

The main criterion for choosing students is an excellent physical and psychological state of health. The second is connected with significant loads and a hard schedule of the school day. In addition, the cadets study in closed boarding schools. So, they can see their relatives only on the weekends. The most important in the educational process is strict discipline for students. Since 1732, in the first cadet corps were wearing a uniform, this tradition continues today.

In addition to wearing military clothing, young people march, carry a watch and turn to the senior in rank. The big plus for such education is the maximum approximation to the real conditions of the army life. There are all kinds of sports camps and field camps.

But the most important stage is the traditional cadet oath. A young warrior promises not only obediently to fulfill his new duties, but also to serve his homeland and defend it if an enemy attacks.

Educational institutions today offer not only excellent education, but also many benefits for their future wards. For example, children whose parents-soldiers died in the performance of duties can study free of charge in such institutions. Problems of modern teaching

It seems that so much time separates Russia from the Soviet Union. But unfortunately, the country is still working on the imperial system and does not try to change it. Contemporaries are faced with vestiges, which are still dangling in the country's politics, since a new training system has not yet been formed. Old professors work on an anachronistic scheme, which they were taught in the territory of the Union. Party propaganda has long since outlived its own, but the century is the foundation for a new generation. Also the goal to which students should be stretched is also unfinished.

Institutions do not care about the future fate of the wards and do not give them benefits that will later help them enter the university. In addition, graduation marks of the student are equated to points of a simple student. That is, the Cadets of Russia are not at all protected in the face of strict reality.

In general, the only thing that motivates young men and women in the future to choose military schools of this type is the honorary title and moral principle.
