The Birth of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is a very bright historical figure. A wide variety of information about its existence scientists find to this day. Although still fifty years ago, Jesus was considered a mythical character of ancient legends. A special significance for all believers is the birth of Jesus Christ. It is with this name that the Christian religion is inextricably linked .

Jesus is a Jewish name, or rather his Greek version (in the original "Yeshua"), it is translated as "Salvation, God's help." Christ is the translation from Aramaic into Greek of the word "meshia" ("anointed one", the messiah). Very interesting is the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. He was born in Palestine, the city of Bethlehem. This city is located near Jerusalem. In our days, Jerusalem is practically bordered by it. The exact time of birth is not established. It is only known that at this time Augustus reigned in Rome, and this is approximately 750 years since the foundation of Rome. Subsequently, the calendar will lead from the birthday of Jesus. Islam, for example, recognizes Jesus as a prophet. Christians consider him a God-man who has the supreme power. The birth of Jesus is described in different literature almost equally.

Mother of Jesus - Mary (now the Blessed Virgin Mary, or the Mother of God), when she was still a child, swore that she would serve God only one God and never get married. But fate decreed that Maria was an early orphan. A fourteen-year-old girl, according to the laws, could no longer live in the temple. She had to get married. The priest in the temple knew about the vow of Mary and decided to help her. He married her to an eighty-year-old man, his relative, whose name was Joseph. He lived in the city of Nazareth, by that time already a widower and had children.

And one day, Mary saw the archangel Gabriel. He appeared to inform Mary that the Lord had blessed her and chose the mother of the Son of God. He also mentioned the name of the child and said that the Holy Spirit would soon descend upon her. The angel of God came to Joseph in a dream, reported that Mary would soon bear the Lord's Son, and the birth of Jesus Christ would save mankind from sins.

Joseph and Mary were forced to leave for Bethlehem. Some sources refer to the population census of Judea. Each person was to be recorded at the place of residence of the ancestors. Upon their arrival in Bethlehem, Joseph and Maria could not find a place to sleep, they had to go to a regular barn. In the night Mary gave birth to a boy. But the birth of Jesus Christ is also associated with the appearance of a bright star, seen by the sages of the East. They knew about the imminent arrival of the Messiah. Seeing the star, they followed her until she led them to the birthplace of Jesus. Entering and bowing to the infant as king, the sages gave him their gifts: incense, gold and myrrh. Gold for Jesus the King, incense for Jesus the God (incense used during worship) and myrrh for the person who will die (the dead were rubbed with flavored oils).

Learning that King Herod is killing all newborn babies, since he was also notified of the "coming of a new ruler," Joseph and the Virgin Mary flee to Egypt. There they spent about three years. After King Herod died, Mary and Joseph returned to their native Nazareth. The story of the birth of Jesus Christ also says that the Messiah was circumcised and abided by the laws of the Torah. Soon after reaching the age of thirty, he accepted a rite of baptism in the waters of the Jordan River. Immediately after this, Jesus spent forty days in the desert, and when he returned, he began to preach. Jesus is the symbol of the "trinity of God" in the Christian religion (God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, God the Son). Until today, scientists have not been able to recreate the true biography of Jesus, because there are few historical, not biblical, records. In the Gospels, information is often duplicated, and historical sources contradict each other. So the existence of Jesus is only a matter of faith, the unsolved mystery of the present.
