TB dispensary: functions and tasks of the institution

Despite the development of modern medicine, there are some diseases that require not just immediate intervention by specialists, but also hospitalization with isolation. Such diseases should include tuberculosis at all its stages. Fortunately, those days when this illness was considered incurable and passed away the lives of thousands of people passed. Today, coping with this diagnosis will allow a quick call to doctors and an immediate definition in an anti-TB dispensary. This not only helps prevent the development of the disease, but also isolates the focus of infection from healthy people.

What is a TB dispensary?

This institution, in essence, is an operational center for organizing the fight against the disease. In addition, the present clinical antituberculous dispensary is always a regional independent legal entity, which is confirmed by the availability of a state-licensed license. This document gives the right to carry out medical activities in the treatment of this particular disease, thanks to which the staff of the dispensary provide anti-tuberculosis assistance to the population in the territory that is adjacent to the institution. Accordingly, there is usually a regional TB dispensary, which, in turn, is the key link in the general service to combat this disease in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Functions of the institution

The medical institute, which has the state accreditation of the dispensary, usually performs the following functions:

  • Treatment inpatient and outpatient, which is accompanied by hospitalization and isolation of the patient, depending on the stage of injury to the body;
  • Aerosol and physical therapy;
  • Surgical intervention if necessary, which is especially important at advanced stages;
  • The inpatient treatment of extrapulmonary forms of tuberculosis.

If we talk about methods of combating the disease, then in such an institution as an anti-tuberculosis dispensary, the following forms of treatment are usually used:

  • Biochemical research;
  • Laboratory research;
  • Fluorography analysis;
  • Functional diagnostics ;
  • Endoscopic examination;
  • Additional diagnostics if necessary.

To obtain a general picture of the development of the disease in the institution, there is appropriate equipment that allows on-site determination of the stage of the organism's damage and to take all necessary measures to localize the focus.

Structure of the dispensary

Since the medical institution for tuberculosis control is public, its structure must necessarily include the following units:

  • Departments dispensary-polyclinic, which, as a rule, are divided into children's and adults;
  • Administrative and economic department;
  • X-ray department, which usually includes a fluorography room;
  • Department of bacteriology;
  • Department of laboratory research;
  • Department of tuberculosis, which has extrapulmonary form;
  • Department of bacteriology;
  • Organizational and methodical part.

The TB dispensary has a regular and day hospital.

Treatment of ailment in children

Since the diagnosis of "tuberculosis" affects the body irrespective of age, a children's TB dispensary, accredited by the state, must be located on the territory of each region of the Russian Federation. Juvenile patients are defined there similarly to adults, in the direction of the pediatric phthisiatrician of the district polyclinic. In institutions of this type, clinical care is provided to children and adolescents with the corresponding disease, and preventive measures are also taken to identify the disease at an early stage, which will greatly facilitate its treatment. In the children's dispensary, a day and general hospital is usually provided, for which wards of different capacities are provided. If tuberculosis has neglected forms, the minor patient will be in an isolated room, and hospitalization with his parents will be prohibited.
