Storchak Sergey Anatolyevich - Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation

Sergey Anatolyevich Storchak is a well-known Russian politician, since 2005 he has been working as Minister of Finance of our country. He is one of the best minds of the Russian Federation, a man who graduated from MGIMO, speaks fluent English and French and spent many years of his life in the service of Russia.

Politician was born in 1954, June 8, in the territory of modern Ukraine, to be more precise, in a small regional center - the city of Olevsk, which is located in the Zhytomyr region.

Before entering the prestigious Moscow university, then a young guy tries to work at the Krasnodar oil and fat factory as a transporter between September 1971 and October 1972. But already in November he was drafted into the army, where he served three years. After completing his service in the Soviet Army, Sergei Storchak goes to work at Mosstroy-29, where he works for workers in the second-class transport sector.

In September 1976, he began his studies at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he successfully completed his education for five years.

From 1981 to 1988, Strochak worked at the Institute of World Economy of the USSR as first a junior and then chief research officer.

The beginning of political career

From December 1988 to February 1992 Storchak Sergey Anatolyevich (whose contacts are confidential information) holds a position with the UN Office and other international organizations. He also works in the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For two years (1992 - 1994) the same positions, but already in the Russian Federation is Storchak Sergey Anatolyevich. The criminal case against Storchak

The policy was detained in 2007 in mid-November by officers of the Investigative Committee of the Prosecutor's Office and the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.

A search of Storchak's apartment was conducted, as a result of which one million dollars was found and arrested. These funds were later found legally obtained and returned to the rightful owner.

According to the lawyer Storchak, this amount was earned by him while taking a position in Vnesheconombank and was intended to buy a house in the country.

At the end of the week, Storchak was charged under articles 30 and 159 of the Criminal Code of Russia "Attempted fraud committed in very large amounts by an organized group".

Simply put, Storchak, along with Viktor Zakharov and Vadim Volkov, were suspected of setting up a group to steal large sums of money from the budget of the Russian Federation under the guise of settling the debt of the Republic of Algeria, which owed Sodeksim in the amount of 43.4 million US dollars.

From November 2007 to October 2008, Storchak was kept in the Lefortovo detention center, and then he and other defendants were released under a written undertaking not to leave the place. During the investigation, the politician was dismissed from the post of Deputy Governor of the European Bank. One person who vouched for and supported the policy was the Minister of Finance - A. Kudrin.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation decided to change the measure of restraint to all the accused, since the investigation is completed and the defendants of the case can not influence its results.

And at the end of January 2011, criminal prosecution was stopped, as there were no events of the crime. At the end of April 2008, Storchak was dismissed from the post of Deputy Governor at the EBRD from Russia.

The politician did not receive material compensation for moral damage and unreasonable detention for a long time, since he did not demand it.

Continuation of career

After his release, Storchak went on vacation, and in March 2011 became finance minister, he was appointed by A. Kudrin for the post of supervising the Department of International Financial Relations, integration into the CIS and Evrazes.

After a couple of months Storchak replaced D. Pankin as deputy manager in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development from the Russian Federation, the politician became deputy representative to the Council of the International Bank from the Russian Federation. In May 2012, Russian President Vladimir Putin re-confirmed Storchak in his post.

Awards and merits

For his many years and diligent political activities Storchak Sergei Anatolyevich received several awards:

  • In 2000, he was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland of the second degree.
