Stomatitis: causes, symptoms, treatment

The first in the graph of childhood diseases is stomatitis, which affects children of different ages. Many children are affected by this ailment. In this article, I will consider in detail the disease "stomatitis": the causes of the onset, prevention and treatment.

Can I do without treatment? Prevention

The main treatment consists in intensified struggle for the purity of the gums, the spaces between the teeth. Good rinse with calendula, sage broths, oak bark, chamomile.

It is possible to use drugs that accelerate the regeneration of tissues, such as "Cartoline", sea buckthorn oil, propolis ointment. Do not forget about the general antiviral therapy. Basically, these are drugs that are directed at the destruction of the herpes virus (Gerpevir, Geviran, Zovirax). If you do not treat a slow process, which can continue to latently for a long time, then there may be a loss of teeth.

Stomatitis. Causes

In the first place, children with weakened immunity fall ill. The stomatitis itself is caused by bacteria developing in the oral cavity. The growth of the number of microbes is characteristic for weak children, and therefore it does not threaten other healthy babies. Very often the root cause is the herpes virus. Infection is transmitted by close contact. This form of stomatitis is referred to as viral diseases. If the disease manifested itself after a trauma to the lips, tongue, burns, it is called "traumatic." Stamatitis, caused by microbial staphylococci and streptococcus, is called microbial. It mainly affects adolescents, provoking throat diseases, inflammation of the middle ear and pneumonia.

Stomatitis: symptoms, treatment in children

It manifests itself as inflammatory processes of the oral mucosa. Redness, swelling, the appearance of vesicles and sores covered with plaque, rashes on the skin around the lips - all this causes painful sensations that prevent food intake. Therefore, before eating, it is necessary to give the child an anesthetic, to babies to lubricate the gum with a special cream. The disease is often accompanied by high fever. A weakened child with low immunity is prone to frequent diseases of various types of stomatitis several times a year.

How to treat older children

To begin with, you need to determine whether this is a true stomatitis, the causes of its occurrence, and the clinical picture. If the diagnosis is correct, then older children can be treated more easily - they can rinse the mouth, dissolve the pills, independently monitor the purity of the cavity. With babies a bit more complicated. Be patient. Tie a bandage on your index finger, moisten in a 1.5% solution of peroxide. Thoroughly treat the oral mucosa. Then, using a new bandage, already moistened in the Kalanchoe juice or sea-buckthorn oil (you can use "Stomatidin"), repeat the procedure. The number of such treatments should correspond to the number of feedings. This is the best remedy for stomatitis.

Finally

If the stomatitis is determined in a timely manner, the reasons for its occurrence and undertake the elimination of the disease, the ailment will retreat rather quickly. Within a day, the pain disappears or their intensity decreases, and the sores will be on 3-5 days.
