How to make a demotivator in Photoshop?

Today, the Internet is literally filled with all sorts of demotivators. They are funny, sad, instructive, and mostly reflect the reality, which we sometimes do not notice or which, on the contrary, we pay too much attention. Perhaps you also have something to say to this world with the help of such commented images in a black frame, so now we will learn how to create your demotivator using Photoshop.

First of all, you, of course, will need the above-mentioned graphic editor. It can be downloaded on the Internet and installed on a computer. If this program is already worthwhile, then you need to select an image that will serve as the basis for the future demotivator, and come up with a commentary commenting on it. Next, we open the photoshop and begin to embody our idea in life. We will need several palettes - "Layers" and "History". To open them, enter the "Window" menu and select first one and then the second. After that, you need to create a new file, and for this purpose you need to select "New" in the "File" menu and set the size to 500 * 400 pixels. Further, before making a demotivator, the document created for it is best preserved. To do this, select the format * .PSD, it will allow further adjustments to the file. As you create a demotivator (or any other image), try periodically to save it, so that in case of unforeseen situations, do not lose the changes.

How to make a demotivator - step 1. Fill

When a new file of the necessary sizes is created, it has the form of a white sheet. Therefore, the next stage will be the creation of the very black background on which the drawing and the inscription will be located. To do this, you need to fill the white sheet with black. On the left side of the screen on the toolbar, find the icon with two squares - black over white. Select black, then find the image of the watering can, click on it and then move the cursor over the sheet. Do one click and your sheet will turn black. You can also do this via the "Edit" menu: select "Run Fill" and click OK.

How to make a demotivator - step 2. Picture

The next step is to insert the image you selected. Again, through the "File" open the desired picture, then in the upper right corner of the toolbar, select the Move icon (arrow with a cross). Click on it, then we move the cursor to the picture, click on the left mouse button and, without letting go, "transfer" the captured image to the tab with the future demotivator. After that you can move your picture inside the black background and arrange it as you want. With the Selection tool (located to the left of the Move), select the desired area and go to the palette menu that you have already created, select "Layers", make the layer with the picture active (after clicking on it the line should turn blue) and click on the bottom on the Add Layer Mask button. The image area you need is now in the center of the black background. With the Move tool, move the image a little closer to the top edge. Now you need to ideally center the picture. To this end, go to the "Layers", select both layers by clicking the Ctrl key on the keyboard in addition to the mouse and then click "Aligning the Centers Horizontally" in the upper editorial panel.

How to make a demotivator - step 3. Comment

At the next stage we create a yellow frame around the picture. To do this, in the "Layers" double click on the layer with the picture and select the "Stroke" in the appeared window. We also set its color and, if necessary, we make an internal shadow. Now all that is left for us is to make an inscription. In the tools menu we find the icon with the letter "T" (text), click on it and then put the cursor on the black background under the picture. We write a comment, not forgetting, however, to set the required color for the inscription. This is also done by double clicking the mouse in the "Layers" on the corresponding layer. After the text is typed, you can change the type and size of the font. When done, the ready demotivator can be re-centered once again, selecting all the layers in the palette menu.

In this simple way, you can create demotivators to your taste. But after creation do not forget to save them again, but in * .jpg format.
