Perhaps the most colorful and majestic continent can be considered Africa. All this reflected on the life and traditions of its nationalities, of which there are several hundred.

Of course, in order to describe all the states of Africa, it will take a long time. But some of them, the largest and most outstanding, should be considered in more detail.

Ghana. This is a republic of about 240 thousand square kilometers. This state in West Africa borders on Burkina Faso and Cote d'Ivoire and is washed by the Atlantic Ocean. The capital of this country is Accra. At the head of the republic is the president, who is elected for four years together with the parliament. Ghana's official language is English. Among the population are Christians, pagans and Muslims.

One of the most famous states is Algeria. This is a country with a republican form of government located in the north of Africa. Its capital has a similar name. The state language is Arabic. Most of the population is Muslim. Typical for Algeria is the desert terrain. It has no permanent rivers and borders on the Sahara Desert.

Some African states have a very interesting history and culture. To such it is possible to carry and Egypt. This country is very popular with tourists from all over the world due to its historical values. The capital of Egypt is Cairo. About 94 percent of the country's territory is occupied by deserts. The rest is the delta of the Nile River, which is the largest not only in Africa, but also in the world. In this place a lot of attractions. Among them - several pyramids, the Great Sphinx, mosques and churches, the cemetery "City of the Dead" and various museums. Despite all the public interest in this country, many of its secrets have not been solved to this day.

There are also island countries of Africa. Among them is the Republic of Madagascar, which is located on an island that has a similar name. It has a republican form of government. Its nature is unique and virgin. This country is suitable for those who do not like high-class hotels and prefer to merge with nature and explore the flavor of local people.

One of the largest states is South Africa. It is located in the southern part of the continent. On the territory of this country are two separate states of Africa: Swaziland and Lesotho. About 80 percent of the population of this country are Christians. This state is distinguished by its rich flora and fauna. Many plants were imported to Europe. For example, gladiolus, geranium, narcissus. Here there are unique plants that can not be found in other corners of the globe.

African states are distinguished by a certain originality, flora and fauna, a special climate and originality.

In Africa, the largest desert is the Sahara, as well as the two smaller ones - Namib and Kalahari. Large rivers flow through Africa: the Nile and the Congo. One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world is also located on this continent.
