The band Die Antwoord became a sensation of the You-tube channel. Guys who have not been known to anyone recently , upload their video clip Enter the Ninja and wake up famous after 10 million views. Here it is - a modern miracle of online advertising. It would seem that everyone can do this! But this is only the front side of history, the official version.

How it all began?

The history of the same team begins long before the release of the song and the formation of Die Antwoord. The main character is Ninja, whose real name is Waddy Jones. His appearance and demeanor resemble a white kid named Eminem, who shocked the whole rap community about ten years ago. Vaddy already had some pretty successful bands. Every time he invented new names, chips, legends ... In the mid-90s, he was called The MAN WHO NEVER CAME BACK, and his project was The Original Evergreen. The guys released several albums with the label Sony. But something was missing, and the project outlived itself in two years.

Who are all these people?

The next step to the world music scene was the transformation of Jones into Max Norman (Max Norman). His old recordings are now quite popular as a result of the fame of Die Antwoord. The project had the honor to perform on the opening of Nelli Fortado and the stars of electronic music The Faithless.

Between these projects Veddy tried himself also under other guises: Yang Weapon, MC Tatolly Rad. Already in this period, he begins to perform with a miniature brunette, who reads rap and reads dresses for a boy - Henri du Toit. But beyond these steps it did not go. Soon, Henry will appear in the zef-rap team as a full and irreplaceable participant under the name Yo-Landy.

And only after such experiments in 2008 there are an out-and-out scum in tattoos Ninja and a spectacular blonde Yo-Landy, who have an answer to all questions about what a successful group should be. Its name from one of the official languages of South Africa is translated Answear.

Zef-Rap philosophy

So, the main style of the group was chosen street rap, which sounds in the areas of Cape Town at every step. Motives composed the simplest, rather sticky, instantly memorable. As Ninja himself says, a song is needed for locals who will yell from the car window. That's why rap is not so easy, but rave-rap! And here it is - that note, which Veddy so did not suffice in all previous projects. The drive from this combination spawned a completely new direction for Zef-rap. As Yo-Landy says, Zef (in Afrikaans means equal boys) is about those who are poor, but classy and stylish.

It turns out that Die Antwoord created a whole new philosophy. Zef is a culture of white and black Africa, paganism, the thinking of poverty, contemporary music and acid colors of rave. All concerts are seasoned with explosions of pyrotechnics, smoke screens, laser shows and performances. And can there be a less impressive project if it originated in a country where there are as many as eleven official languages!

The public loses control, raves, goes mad, because it's all about her. This music is about the modern generation of the 10-ies of the XXI century! Should we be surprised at such an unexpected African "sensation"? Yes! After all, they managed to find a rap response and a rave-key to the hearts of listeners. For which many thanks to them!
