Shelter for winter wagels - not a whim, but a harsh necessity

In the spring the vegel begins to bloom. Decorative bush with numerous bells hanging on it - A subject of special pride of the gardener. It's not easy, oh, how difficult it is to keep a heat-loving plant in a cold climate, and even to be able to achieve from it a magnificent bloom! All the wagels are beautiful, but the varieties that begin to hang their bells before the foliage completely dissolve are especially attractive. Unusual leaves of some species of veygely are as good as elegant flowers - green with a white border or purple, they certainly cause admiration. However, other varieties can be proud of their soft and velvety greens, which are especially effective look original flowers.

In the cold climate of the middle belt, only winter-hardy species of this shrub can be successfully grown. It is noted that the frost resistance of the wiggles rises with age. Even slightly damaged by frost, it is recovered quickly enough in the spring and blooms in the same year. Nevertheless, in the cold climatic zones the wagelas for winter should be well sheltered. In the northern regions, the best insulation is snow. However, the winter is unpredictable, so it is better to hedge and cover the winter for wagels in a reliable air-dry way. To do this, under the bush, you should install the frame and wrap it with special material, for example, lutrasil. The voids are filled with billet or dry leaves, and then the entire structure is covered with a film. So that it does not blown off, the edges are pressed to the ground with stones. Shelter for winter wagels sometimes do this: the branches of the bush are tied together and bent to the ground, lining under them any insulating material (film, sacking, spruce lapnik), and in this position secure with staples. Then the entire structure is protected first with a heater, and on top with a waterproofing layer.

However, each horticulturist makes shelter for the wagelas in his own way, everything depends on the availability of materials and imagination. All options are good in their own way, if they bring the desired result. It is important to remember the main rule: to ensure that the precious wagel is well preserved and not lost as a result of improper care, shelter for the winter must certainly provide it with air access.

The second important condition is that the bushes are reliably protected from moisture provoking the development of fungal diseases, etc.

And the third: all work on the preparation for winter should be carried out only in dry weather, when the top layer of the soil slightly frosts.

Shelter for the winter of the Weygels is especially necessary in the early years of her life. With age, when the plant is hardened and becomes more hardy, additional protection measures (under certain climatic conditions) can be discarded. It is not recommended to hurry with warming, as a light frost will only do good to the wagel. It is better to start this work when the thermometer stably shows a negative temperature.

If everything is done correctly, the sweetest wagel will safely winter, and in the spring enchant the entire district with its elegant flowers. Despite some pampering and finicky, the overseas beauty always remains a favorite of gardeners, due to its exceptional decorativeness and the duration of flowering.
