This is the background: the saint appeared to the sailors, who suffered disaster near the promontory, and in honor of their salvation they founded a monastery on the rocks. Now it is the St. George Monastery. But the modern name appeared in the late 18th century, which later could be seen on maps, including on the one where Sevastopol is depicted. Cape Fiolent has another name - "God's Country". Also it was called "frantic", because beside it there were frequent disturbances of the sea. And the cape was called the word "felenk". From Turkish it is translated as "tiger's cape". It is logical, because on the shores are visible strips of dark and rusty trachyte. This color combination is very similar to the skin of a tiger.

Recreation

Many people want to visit this cape when they come to Sevastopol. Fiolent is really the place to be seen. Magnificent sea fresh air, beaches of pleasant pebbles, azure waves, crystal clear water ... and what kinds!
