Scarf knitted on needles

A knitted scarf can be called an ideal first product for girls and women who have only just learned to knit. The classic model of the scarf is a long rectangular ribbon. However, in search of diversity, designers are increasingly experimenting with the form of these accessories. As a result, there were scarves-snodes, which are also called clamps or "pipes".

Next, we will offer models of scarves that differ from each other in cut, level of complexity of work and purpose.

Classic scarf knitted from thick yarn

The photo suggested in the article shows a very large and large scarf. As a rule, such accessories are worn in the winter. Due to its size, the scarf will be an excellent addition to the coat or warm coat.

For a similar product, it is best to choose a material that is 50% wool and 50% acrylic. Despite the fact that fully woolen yarn is much warmer, it has too much weight. A heavy accessories to wear very uncomfortable, they can cause fatigue and discomfort. Acrylic is an artificial fiber, but a scarf, knitted from a blended material, turns out to be practical.

This model will require at least 500 g of very thick yarn (about 50 m / 100 g). The work is carried out with spokes number 12. In the case when the skilled worker knits tight, she should choose a tool of even larger size.

Such a scarf, bound by an elementary garter stitch, receives an additional relief due to the pattern. The scheme is not required here, since all loops in all rows are performed by the facial ones.

How to tie a scarf with triangular edges

In general, the work is extremely simple, but the formation of triangular endings can be difficult for beginners. First, you need to type on the knitting needles three loops. Next, each first loop (P) should be transferred to the right spoke without tying.

The order of work for each series:

  1. Remove the edge P, form a new P from the broach between the first and second P and tie it to the front one (L). The second P also tie A, raise P from the broach between the second and third P and tie it to L.
  2. Complete all n face.
  3. It is the same as the first P, but there will be three instead of one P in the center.
  4. It is the same as the second.

The sequence is repeated until the scarf has the desired width. At this thickness of the thread, 20 loops are sufficient. Due to the fact that in each second P two P are added, the cloth gradually expands.

After the triangular edge is formed, the web is knitted without any additions to the desired height.

To complete the work, give the second edge a triangular shape. To this end, in each facial row, the abbreviations are made: the second and third P, and the two penultimate knit together. So continue until there is only one P. Then the thread is cut.

Such a scarf, knitted with knitting needles, is decorated with pompons or brushes. Any decorative elements will be appropriate here.

How to tie scarf-knitting with knitting needles

A snuff is called a scarf, closed in a ring. That is, it has no beginning and no end, since its typing edge is sewn with the last row. An alternative to stitching is circular knitting. If the work is initially carried out in a circle, it is even easier to tie a snuff-yoke, circular scarf or "pipe".

In the photo, the article shows an openwork scarf made in circular rows. Yarn of average thickness was used for work. This accessory is simply worn over the head and loosely wraps around the neck.

To begin with, you need to dial the knitting needles for the first row. Their number needs to be found out in advance, having tied a control sample.

The scarf, pictured on the photo, bound from the wool on the spokes number 5, includes 12 rapports of the pattern. In each rapport of 10 P, so for the compositing edge it took 122 P (120 per ornament and 2 P edge).

Knitting an Openwork Pattern

The first few P should be tied with a placard pattern to form neat edges of the product. Then you need to start the first row of the pattern. The diagram perfectly illustrates the order of work. It uses the following conventions:

  • An empty cell is the face loop (LP).
  • A symbol resembling a barrel is a crochet (N).
  • The line tilted to the left - two LPs, tied together with the slope to the left.
  • The line tilted to the right - two LPs, tied to one LP with a slope to the right.
  • Black triangle - three loops knitted together.

After the rapport of the pattern is repeated the required number of times and the knitted scarf-snood is of the required height, several rows of garter stitching should be re-knit again.

At the final stage, all the loops are not tightly closed. Snood should not be steamed, as it can become too soft or even lose shape.

Scarf widening downwards

The following model has a rather unusual, but extremely interesting form. Scarf, tied round, below a little wider than the top. Thanks to this feature, the product looks great and does not create excess volume around the neck.

The model is relatively simple, but requires considerable attention.

First it is necessary to perform a control sample to find out the density of the blade.

Then the wizard should calculate the number of P for the first row. The scarf on the photo is connected by a thread of medium thickness on the spokes number 5. The circumference of the product along the line of the bottom was 100 cm, and at the top 75 cm.

To achieve this effect, you should work according to the diagram below. Consistently following the instructions, the master will receive the canvas of the desired shape.

The most simple scarf

The following pattern is great for beginners.

It allows you to quickly create a beautiful, openwork pattern:

  • First Р: all П knit with facial.
  • The second P: the edge is removed, H is made, the next two P are knitted with L. Next, again H and again the two P knit L. The sequence is repeated to the end of the series.
  • The third and all the remaining P are the repetition of the second.

This ornament is two-sided, that is, it does not have a pronounced front or back side, so it is great for classic long scarves. However, this does not mean that this ornament can not be used for other types of accessories.

Specificity of work with an openwork pattern

How to tie a scarf-snack? For beginners, there are a few tips:

  1. The first few P should be tied with garter stitch to give the product a neat, complete look.
  2. You must carefully monitor the correct execution of all elements. Any missed cape or wrongly tied loop will be very noticeable.
  3. The finished canvas will be very light and delicate, so these ornaments are used to make autumn scarves. For winter accessories should choose a more dense pattern.
  4. If the knitter wants to give a little stiffness to the edges of the scarf, she can tie them crochet. Several rows, made with columns without a crochet, will become an openwork pattern a kind of frame.

The finished product should not be stripped. Wet-heat treatment consists of washing in warm water and careful drying. The product can be smeared with steam or even ironed through a wet cloth only if there is silk in the thread. Then, after steaming, the scarf will become very soft and will lay down beautiful folds.
