Sandwich panels: dimensions and application

One of the most commonly used building materials recently are sandwich panels. Their dimensions can be absolutely diverse. They are used in almost all types of construction.

Sandwich panel for slopes

Since in each room the windows are one of the main components, their finishing is not the last place. Slopes on plastic windows can be cut off with high quality and easily with sandwich panels. This detail of the structure is a ready-to-install element consisting of expanded polystyrene "stuffing" and facing sheets. In addition, the convenience of this building material is that you can install them yourself. They give the window an aesthetic appearance and are characterized by low thermal conductivity, which allows for a long time to maintain a stable temperature in the room.

Roof and wall sandwich panel

From these building materials, it is very easy and quick to build a building of any purpose, so they began to be in demand. They consist of external profiled sheets of steel, and the insulation serves as a kind of "stuffing" of the sandwich panel. Dimensions of panels for walls can be varied, for example: length - 1000-12000 mm, height - 1185 or 1200 mm, thickness - from 50 to 250 mm. There are mineral wool and expanded polystyrene types of panels, where the quality of the insulation depends on the type. The dimensions within the specified limits are chosen by the customer himself, based on the requirements of the design. Also, wall panels are characterized by soundproofing ability, by weight and fire resistance. Depending on these characteristics, the desired model is selected. The choice in this case is carried out depending on the design purpose. In addition to the characteristics of materials described above for the erection of exterior walls of buildings and internal partitions in rooms, roofing panels also have their specific characteristics. Their required thickness depends on the wind load on the building, the necessary degree of thermal insulation and strength. Also, the facing material of the sandwich panel is also important. Dimensions, in general, do not depend on the lining material, which can be plasterboard, ceramic, fiberboard, steel, particle board or aluminum.

Than useful sandwich panels

The dimensions of these building materials are very diverse, which makes the construction process a little easier. It is also important that the construction of technical buildings from sandwich panels is reduced by 7-8 times compared with the construction of buildings using traditional materials. In addition, the panels have become popular due to their low cost. In addition, due to the thermal insulation ability of sandwiches, the costs of heating buildings built from such materials are significantly reduced. The variety of models and different types of fillers allow to design also original buildings and premises, and the relatively low weight of the material facilitates its installation and transportation. Now it is worth answering the question: "Is it worth to trust the classics, or is it more profitable to use modern technologies?"
