Putyaevsky ponds in Sokolniki. Putyaevsky ponds: how to get there?

Sokolniki Park took part of the northeast of Moscow. Its extensive territory includes a cascade of six amazingly beautiful reservoirs under the general name Putyaevsky ponds. A chain of picturesque ponds stretched out on an area of 6.1 hectares. From the central entrance to the reservoirs is a fairly long pathencourt (the path takes about 2 hours).

Location of ponds

The reservoirs focused on the expanses of the 4th Beam Cut. It is not far from the platform "Malenkovskaya", which belongs to the Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow railway. Hence the second name of artificial lakes - Malenkovsky ponds. In this place is their source - floodplain Putyaevsky stream.

In addition, the chain of interconnected reservoirs goes to Rostokinsky passage. They are also led by the 5th Radial Prossek, which rests in the vicinity of Rostokinsky passage. Putyaevsky ponds feed surface and groundwater. And in the case of drought, the water level in them is maintained artificially, with the help of a specially installed water pipe.

Name of ponds

Each Putyaevsky pond in Sokolniki with an average depth of 2.5 meters, included in the cascade, has a unique name. The main pond is called the Upper Putiaivsky Pond. Its waters are connected with the intricately wriggling pond of the Snake, smoothly passing into the next lake, which was called the Third Putyaevsky Pond.

The fourth creek was called the Upper Devil's Pond. It is connected with the fifth - the Walrus pond, flowing into the last pond, closing a delightful cascade. The name of the final lake is given to the Lower Devil's Pond.

However, the numbering and names of water bodies are rather arbitrary. In fact, they are assigned arbitrarily. They were not able to identify their unambiguously interpreted and official names. Although, according to most old-timers, it would be correct to calculate the lake from Rostokinsky passage.

History of the water cascade

The place of the construction of reservoirs was Putyaevsky brook, flowing into the river Yauza, bubbling along the bottom of the gully of the same name. Formation of the cascade began with a spontaneously formed lake - the Lower Putyaevka pond. At the end of the XIX century, the ravine was partially blocked, erecting another pond.

The coasts of artificial lakes, dotted with green islands with trees and ducks, were ennobled by regular plantings. Part of the plantations approached the framing and walking paths, forming shady alleys, where the squirrels settled. Over time, they were joined by 4 more ponds.

In the far corner, sandwiched between the railway, Rostokinsky passage and a chain of reservoirs, the Labyrinth was built, forming five intricately intersecting circular tracks. Near the Labyrinth erected Devil's Bridge (apparently, it was he who gave the names to the first reservoirs - Upper and Lower Devil's Pond). This bridge survived only until the middle of the twentieth century. From the park labyrinth, unfortunately, little has been preserved.

Reconstruction of reservoirs

In 2008 the Putyaev ponds underwent substantial reconstruction. When cleaning them, sludge and technogenic garbage were taken out in an incredible amount. After cleansing, the natural springs of the reservoir were restored, and its banks were reinforced with concrete pouring and decorative masonry made of stone. The coastlines were paved with logs and decorated with bumps from them.

In the coastal strip formed sandy beaches, having arranged their slopes with a granite stone. In the vicinity, new landings were made. A vast territory of 3.6 hectares is greened, forming picturesque compositions of 70 trees and 2,000 shrubs.

Description of reservoirs

The largest lake is the Upper Putyaevsky Pond, which extends over an area of 2.95 hectares. From the main cascade the pond is separated by an asphalt road. Its coast is framed by a beach with locker rooms and a beautiful seating area. In the summer café, guests are served with kebabs and khachapuri.

Holidaymakers, arriving at Putyaevsky ponds, play volleyball, wakeboarding, exercise on simulators, fish, swim in boats, catamarans and discobots. For children there are two leisure areas. One of them is modern, multifunctional, reminiscent of the shape of a ship.

Through the Zmeyka canal a beautiful bridge is tossed. On the territory of the walrus pond there is a sports and entertainment club "Friendship". Fans of winter swimming and training on simulators gather here. On the shore of the lake there is a cloakroom for "walruses".

Although equipped with comfortable beaches Putyaevskie ponds, swimming in them is not allowed (on the banks installed warning signs). The only exception was the walrus pond, favored by the adherents of tempering bathing.

Terrenkur, laid along the reservoirs, is equipped with benches. Walking along the paths here, Sokolnikov's guests treat the squirrel with nuts and seeds, feed wild ducks. At the bottom of the cascade, in the relaxation zone, artists write their masterpieces.
