Planting apples is a responsible job requiring attention and diligence

As a rule, trees are planted in spring and autumn. The process of planting seedlings includes the selection of planting material, site selection, excavation of the pit, addition of drainage and fertilizers, planting of apples and watering.

To bookmark the garden, you need to use zoned tree varieties, which are labeled. Usually planting of apples is carried out at their two-year age. When buying seedlings, you need to make sure that they have a conductor and at least three or four side branches, the length of the roots is about 40 cm.

Apple trees develop best on loamy soils. In clay places add compost, peat, large river sand, sandstone is fertilized with a large amount of peat, humus, alumina, compost. In general, apple trees do not tolerate lack of oxygen in the soil.

Planting of trees in spring and autumn is carried out in the following periods: the optimal time for the bookmarking of seedlings comes from the 20th of April, in the autumn - from September 20 to October 15. At a later time, it's better to dig in the trees, and plant them in the spring.

In the process of planting, it is necessary to prepare pits for apple trees. Places for future trees are digging with a diameter of 100 cm, to a depth of 80 cm. The humus top layer of the earth and the inferior bottom should be thrown away from the depression. The pits are digested a week before the future planting of apples. The bottom should necessarily be loosened with a crowbar or shovel to a depth of 20-30 cm, while the soil should remain in place.

The apple needs good drainage, for this, tin cans and walnut shells are thrown at the bottom of the pit. Then they begin to fill the seat with a substrate. The pit is filled by one third with the upper humus layer, then organic and mineral fertilizers are added : 3 buckets of manure or a glass of superphosphate, wood ash (10 tablespoons), potassium sulphate (4 items spoons), packaged organic fertilizers (2 packets). Everything is shoveled together with the soil.

The remaining place is covered with fertile soil, until a mound 20 cm high from the soil level is formed above the pit. In the middle of the formed hill, a wooden stick (stake) is inserted, which should rise half a meter above the ground.

Planting of apples should be made by two gardeners. One should install a seedling in the middle of the pit to the north of the stake and raise the tree to a height of 5 cm from the root to the ground. The second assistant holds a seedling, spreads the roots around the mound in all directions, and simultaneously buries the root system with fertile soil, which is gently tamped, especially along the edges of the pit. Then the seedling is tied to a wooden support with a polyethylene twine.

At the end of this process, the planting site should be watered until the water can easily penetrate the pit. Usually enough for watering 4 buckets of water. Then, mulching peat, humus or ordinary earth to a height of 5 cm is made. The watering is repeated after a week.

Saplings, planted by young inexperienced gardeners, often die. The main reason for this lies in the fact that the planting of apple trees is carried out on the site, next to which the groundwaters pass. To accelerate the growth of trees and in the future to obtain good harvests, seedlings should be planted on mounds. In this case, the digging of a section with a diameter of three meters is made at the depth of the bayonet shovel . Then, mineral and organic fertilizers fall asleep according to the following scheme.

One square meter is made by 1 bucket of manure, compost or peat, two tablespoons of potassium sulfate or superphosphate. Fruit trees are planted in the same way as in the pit. Roots need to be well tampered, and the seedlings are tied to a cola and well watered. To remove groundwater near the landing site, you must dig through the grooves.
