FKP "Plant named after Ya. M. Sverdlov" (Dzerzhinsk) is one of the leaders of the Russian defense complex. This is the largest research and production association in the military industrial complex on technological capacities and production volume. The company's profile is the production of ammunition and explosives.

The beginning of the way

The history of the Sverdlov plant began in 1915. June 18 Military Council of the Russian Empire decided to build a new state plant of explosives. The place of construction was determined by the Nizhny Novgorod province. According to the general plan, the production workshops were erected simultaneously with the houses for workers, the school, benches, churches and other infrastructure.

The change of government in 1917 did not stop construction. On the contrary, the nascent Red Army was in dire need of ammunition. The plant, which received the name of Sverdlov, forced the work, the first production of TNT was launched. Thanks to the new explosive material, the efficiency of extractive industries has increased (especially in the production of coal) and in construction (for the construction of tunnels, canals, large-scale earthworks). The Nizhny Novgorod plant for these services in 1924 was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

Guarding the Motherland

With the beginning of the Second World War, the company has a special responsibility to supply the Red Army with ammunition and explosives without interruption. During this period the plant expanded production, enriched the range of military products, introduced new developments. In general, made a significant breakthrough in development. For example, every second projectile for artillery pieces and every third air bomb produced a plant named after Sverdlov.

Over the years of the Great Patriotic War more than 1,500 workers were awarded orders, medals, valuable gifts, diplomas for labor heroism, and the enterprise itself - the Order of the Red Banner of Battle.

From war to peace

In the post-war years, the Sverdlov plant experienced several conversions. Peaceful production was actively mastered, assimilated industries developed, and dual-purpose goods were produced. Automated control systems were introduced in the workshops, and the auxiliary base of the enterprise was expanded. At the same time, modern equipment complexes, unique production of explosives were developed. For labor merit in 1971, the government awarded the team the third order - the October Revolution.

Since 1972, the plant has established the production of an octogen, becoming the flagship of the military branch of the USSR. Here, experimental technologies were developed, further introduced in other core industries.

New time

By the year 2000, the era of the "arms race" had ended. FKP "Sverdlov Plant" has today updated its production facilities with the aim of expanding and diversifying the products. A significant volume is occupied by products for the oil and gas, mining, and construction industries.

The plant is unique in combining science and high production culture. The FKP has its own scientific and technical center. It occupies 3,500 m ^{2 of} experimental production and laboratory premises. Together with the design office recently developed dozens of innovative technologies introduced into production.

Sverdlova (Dzerzhinsk) has preserved socio-cultural facilities: the Palace of Culture, sanatorium-preventive clinic, FLC, camp site, medical unit, children's health camp, hostel, hotel, canteens network. Description

The Ya. M. Sverdlov plant is an industrial site with a thousand buildings with an area of about 1100 hectares. The production equipment meets the generally accepted safety standards of the SRPP BT and ISO9001. To reduce the costs of energy-intensive operations, we built our own CHP and a water treatment system.

More than 90 km of railway tracks and 120 km of motor roads are laid on the inner territory. The rolling stock includes 900 railway wagons and 200 pieces of automotive equipment. Products are delivered, including by waterways: on the balance of the enterprise 3 vessels.

Profile

The Sverdlov Plant (Dzerzhinsk) is a broad-profile association in the territory of which military and civilian production facilities operate. Here they produce:

• Explosives for industry and the army. They occupy 30% of the production volume of the plant.
• Chemical products (35%).
• Defense products (30%).
• Machine-building products (5%).

In addition, ammunition is being recycled from 32 to 152 mm by hydrodynamic method and liquid propellant. The resulting components are reused in the industrial cycle.

Explosives and ammunition

The Sverdlov plant is the only one in the Russian Federation that produces a full range of blasting explosives, compounds and products based on them. On manufacture let out:

• Oktogen brand NMH, which is an important component of rocket solid fuel. Also used in the manufacture of cumulative charges and detonating cords.
• Hexogen of the brand RDX. Included in the explosive compositions of air bombs, ammunition of increased power, charges for explosive equipment and perforators.
• Pentaerythritol tetranitrate is a substance for explosive mixtures, detonators and cords.
• TNT. It is available as a granulate or in a scaled form.

On their basis, the plant also produces final products: cumulative charges, cumulative torpedoes, detonators, TNTs, etc. Modern equipment makes it possible to produce fully prepared ammunition. The company cooperates with specialized research institutes, constantly improving the characteristics of products.

For metallurgical, oil and gas, mining industry produce:

• Cumulative charges with glass, steel or plastic sheaths;
• Trotylsoderzhashchie checkers, ammonals and ammonites;
• Pressed shaped charges;
• Grammonites.

Chemical production

The Sverdlov plant has mastered a wide range of industrial chemistry:

Finished products are also produced. For example, the additive "Ecocytat" for diesel fuel, putty "Arzamit-5" with chemically resistant properties, lubricant "Litol-24", solidol, coolant "Sintek" and others.

Mechanical engineering

The list of engineering works is extensive - from welding and processing of materials, to the release of technologically complex equipment. Among the main directions:

• Processing of billets from non-ferrous metals, steel, cast iron, non-metallic products.
• Cutting, turning and milling (including CNC), drilling, grinding, rolling sheet rolling, bending pipes , etc.
• Heat treatment in chamber and shaft electric furnaces with heating temperatures up to 1000 C. The hardening, tempering and normalization of metal products are carried out. At HDTV installations, surface and through hardening, hardfacing of carbide components are carried out.
• Processing complex surfaces and cutting blanks on any trajectory by electro erosion.
• Manufacture of equipment, tooling and measuring tools for casting of plastics and non-ferrous alloys.
• Equipment for chemical production: capacitive apparatus, heat exchangers, all-welded and king columns.
• All kinds of welding with quality control of seams.
• Production of non-standard equipment: pumps, stop valves, conveyors, metal structures, etc.

Plant them. Sverdlov is a regime defense enterprise. The specificity of production does not allow us to advertise new military designs, promising technologies, over which the best minds of the design and scientific and technical departments "conjure".
