Planets of the solar system. For children and adults

The solar system is 8 large celestial bodies, numerous satellites of planets, comets and asteroids. People have been interested in astronomy since time immemorial. Then the sages tried to determine the fate of a man in the stars, to predict future events. Even the naked eye can see five planets, so the composition of the solar system in those distant times looked like Venus, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter.

Only with the advent of telescopes, scientists were able to more closely examine the structure of known celestial bodies and see distant and unknown planets earlier. The launch of the first space stations turned many of the people's views and showed the planets of the solar system in a new light. For children, this topic is very interesting and instructive, since small "pochemachok" attracts all the unknown.

The closest to the Sun is the smallest in the system of the heavenly body - Mercury. It can also be called a "planet of contrasts", because one side melts from the heat at 300 degrees, and the other is chilly and gloomy. This is due to the fact that Mercury quickly revolves around the Sun and very slowly around its axis. He has no companions.

The researchers had to tinker a lot, until they managed to investigate Venus. This mysterious planet is shrouded in a 20-kilometer layer of clouds, beneath which is a real hell, as the surface of the celestial body is heated to 500 degrees. Because of the solid nebula, the sun's rays do not penetrate here, therefore, darkness reigns on Venus. The atmosphere consists of carbon dioxide, sulfur rains are constantly coming, and winds are chasing clouds at great speed.

Mars acquired the glory of the most popular planet of the solar system. For children, there are a lot of books by famous science fiction writers of the last century, who believed that here too there is life. This heavenly body is really something like the Earth, the day lasts just over 24 hours, the position of the axis is very similar to the axis of our planet. But life on Mars has not yet been detected, the atmosphere is too rarefied, the sun heats up badly, so the temperature here does not exceed 0 degrees.

The giant planets include Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune and Uranus. Jupiter acquired the glory of the largest planet in the solar system. For children it will be interesting that it rotates at a tremendous speed, in its atmosphere only swiftly visible clouds are visible. The heavenly body has a very strong magnetic field. It has 16 known satellites.

Saturn consists of helium and hydrogen, it is cold, known for rapid winds. Of greatest interest is the system of rings encircling the celestial body. So far, scientists have not found them an explanation, and they have accumulated more questions than answers. It has 15 known satellites.

Uranus and Neptune are also giants, but they are icy, not gas. The first has a very monotonous surface, gathered around 5 satellites. The second looks like Earth because of the intense blue color. By the speed of the wind, no planets of the solar system can compete with Neptune. For children, it's not even a secret that Pluto was considered a planet, but then it was decided to exclude it from the list and be classified as dwarf celestial bodies, of which there are about 50 more planets.
