Pikovit (syrup)

Pikovit is a multivitamin syrup designed for children. It is a viscous thick orange liquid.

Pikovit (syrup) is recommended for the prevention of conditions that are accompanied by an increased need for the body in vitamins: overwork, increased mental and physical stress, lack of appetite, inadequate diet, recovery from colds and infectious diseases, with the use of chemotherapeutic agents.

A complex of vitamins, included in the syrup, ensures the normal passage of metabolic processes in the body.

Vitamin A is necessary for the synthesis of proteins, mucopolysaccharides, lipids, normalizes the functions of the skin, mucous membranes, and organs of vision. Vitamin B1 is essential for the heart and the normal functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin B2 accelerates regeneration processes. Vitamin B6 supports the structure and function of teeth, bones, gums. Vitamin B12 affects erythropoiesis. The group of vitamins B participates in the formation of various enzymes that regulate metabolic processes.

Vitamin C takes part in oxidative processes of biologically active substances, regulates metabolism in connective tissues, accelerates the formation of steroid hormones, increases the permeability of capillaries. Vitamin D3 helps maintain a balance of phosphorus and calcium in the body, prevents the occurrence of osteoporosis. The composition of the drug includes water-soluble vitamins of group B and C, which are absorbed in such quantities that correspond to the daily needs of children. All excess vitamins, exceeding the level of their saturation with tissues, are excreted in urine (feces). Fat-soluble vitamins A in D are absorbed in the small intestine. The remaining vitamins accumulate in the liver.

Pikovit (syrup) contains active substances such as retinol palmitate, riboflavin, cholecalciferol, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine hydrochloride, d-panthenol, ascorbic acid, pyridoxine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin, nicotinamide.

Pikovit (syrup) is taken internally. Children aged 1-3 years are recommended to give 10 ml (2 tablespoons) of syrup per day; 4-6 years - 15 ml (1 spoon three times a day), 7-14 years - 15-20 ml (1 spoon 3-4 times a day). You can drink syrup from a spoon or mix it with juice, tea, fruit puree. Exceeding the daily dose can not be tolerated, since allergic reactions are possible. The repeated course of admission can be carried out with a periodicity of 1-3 months.

Pikovit (syrup) should not be taken to children with hypersensitivity to components that are diabetic. Pikovit (syrup) instruction does not recommend taking along with other drugs that contain vitamins. The syrup contains an azo dye E 124, which can cause a sensitivity reaction, so it can be dangerous for children with asthmatic diseases.

In case of an overdose, side effects are increased, which must be treated with activated charcoal, gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

When you take the syrup, it is possible to stain the urine yellow, which is explained by the presence of riboflavin in the preparation and is absolutely harmless.
