Electric Floor Heating Systems

Electric warm floors are used both for additional heating, and as an independent source of heat. In apartments they are used as an auxiliary heat source to central heating. They are an excellent help during periods when the central heating is switched off.

Electric systems of warm floors in the form of an independent source of heating are used in glazed arbours and country cottages. In the set of the system of warm floors, in addition to the heating element, there is a temperature gauge and a temperature regulator. Suitable room temperature should be 23-25 degrees. The temperature of the floor plane depends on the floor covering. Since any material has different thermal conductivity.

For flooring from laminated parquet, the appropriate floor temperature should be 26-27 degrees. For tiles, this value is 30 degrees. And the temperature of the floor in wet rooms should be 32 degrees. The thermoregulated sensor, electric floor heating system, is installed together with the heating element. And is located on the walls. With its support it is possible to set the heating temperature of the floor covering. For a uniform and good warming up of the floors, the power of the heating parts should be 100-140 W per m2 of the plane for dry premises and 155 W per square meter for wet rooms. When calculating the strength of the heaters, account should be taken of the presence of central heating, or of any other auxiliary source of heating. In addition, when calculating it is necessary to remember about the material flooring, the location of furniture, as well as the area of the room and the quality of its insulation. Because for each room these signs can be radically different, the calculation of the strength of the heaters, their number and the pitch of the installation are determined individually.

There are 3 categories of heaters: mat, film and cable. They have different ones. Quality and for everyone uses its own design of installation. In addition, cable heaters are resistive and self-regulating. Resistive cables are more simple and reliable. They are a copper wire with the highest resistance in insulation, great heat resistance.

Self-regulating cable consists of 2 copper cores embedded in a polymer semiconductor matrix susceptible to temperature. In consequence, in areas with increased heat output, it contracts, and in this section the power of the cable increases. With low heat output, it broadens on the contrary and the power of the heating element falls in this area. This allows you to regulate the uniform heating of the entire floor.

Mats are a resistive cable, reinforced on a plastic mesh. The film heating element consists of a carbon fiber paste heater integrated into a specialized polymer. Due to this, the heater has an increased water resistance.
