Nina Kaptsova, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater: biography, creativity

Kaptsova Nina Alexandrovna - a famous Russian ballerina, People's Artist of Russia, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater.

General biography

Nina Kaptsova was born on October 16, 1978 in the city of Rostov-on-Don. From the very childhood the girl dreamed of becoming a ballerina and shining in a halo of glory on the stage of one of the largest theaters in Russia. At the age of 5, when she was a little girl, Nina set herself the goal of becoming a professional ballerina and in the future to perform the part of the Black Swan in the ballet of PI Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake".

The first steps to ballet

To get into the ballet circle was not a huge task. Nina Kaptsova, the height, whose weight always corresponded to the parameters necessary for the ballet, was immediately accepted into it. From an early age she was graceful and plastic, loved to dance and be in the spotlight. Perhaps, that is why she managed with great ease difficult ballet positions and pirouettes.

Gradually moving towards the dream, the girl started ballet lessons in a circle, and then in 1988 her fate fell into the hands of Lyudmila Alekseyevna Kolenchenko, the choreographer of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, which became her first teacher. Becoming older and gaining mastery, Nina Kaptsova moved to a class for a more serious teacher - Larisa Valentinovna Dobrozhan. And, finally, when the young ballerina was already ready to enter the stage of this ballet production, her last teacher was the rector of the Moscow State Philharmonic Society, People's Artist of the USSR SN Golovkina.

A family

At the moment, Kaptsova Nina Alexandrovna is a happy wife and mother. She is married to the pianist-accompanist of the Bolshoi Theater Alexei Melentyev. And in 2014 a famous ballerina gave birth to a daughter and gave her the name Elizabeth.

First successes

The life of a girl changed dramatically from 1991 to 1992: she became a student of a new program that gave an opportunity to self-actualize to new talents - "New Names". Among the same lucky ones were young Tsiskaridze Nikolai, and Dmitry Belogolovtsev. After this event, luck was favored by the future prima ballerina. In 1994-1995, the girl became the youngest winner of the "New Names", and then her long-awaited career began at the Bolshoi Ballet.

In 1996, Kaptsova was already a fellow of the OC of Russia, and only one thing was talking about how rapidly her professional level was rising. Becoming more than just a student, but a student, Nina more and more tried herself on the big stage in such famous ballet productions as A. Gorsky's "Vain Precaution", V.Vainonen's "The Nutcracker", A.Gorsky's "Coppelia", etc. Her partners were Denis Medvedev, Sergei Vasyuchenko, Andrey Bolotin are people, some of whom were the same graduates and young talents of the Moscow State Philharmonic Society, like her, but there were those who by that time had already shown themselves sufficiently at the Higher School of Classical Ballet.

The beginning of his career at the Bolshoi Theater

Thanks to her diligence and ability to give herself to the art of dance without any rest, Nina Kaptsova graduated from the academy in 1996 perfectly, after which she was invited to the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater. An amazing breakthrough at such a young age helped her immediately to establish herself as a responsible and able-bodied student. And, of course, patience and the first setbacks that invariably comprehended every great person, and how the girl easily experienced them, was forced to notice her. As a result, she began to work under the guidance of the main teacher of the Bolshoi Theater, People's Artist of the USSR Marina Kondratieva. Thanks to the attention and instructions of his teacher, the talent of the young ballerina began to unfold more and more.

New productions - a new experience

And in November 1997, Nina Kaptsova first danced a variation in the ballet "Raymonda." A beautiful knightly love story combined with the talent of a young ballerina made a huge success. In December of the same year 1997, Nina made her debut as Amur in a ballet production called Don Quixote. In the spring of the following year, in the ballet "Paganini" Nina Kaptsova played the character of Muza, while her friend and classmate at the academy Dmitry Gudanov made his debut.

Gradually improving skills, the girl more and more approached to her cherished dream - to go down in history as one of the best dancers of our time.

The Nutcracker Ballet

The efforts of the ballerina and the constant work on oneself lead to new achievements. Nina Kaptsova is also a ballerina, who, sparing no effort and time to rehearse and sharpen ballet pas, got to the main role in one of the most famous ballet productions of the composer P. Tchaikovsky "The Nutcracker". Performing the role of Marie, the girl once again proved her professionalism to teachers, viewers and above all herself. The event was held on January 14, 1999 and was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Simon Virsaladze. Nikolay Tsiskaridze became the partner of the ballerina, already familiar to the girl on the program "New Names", where they both became well-deserved winners.

The performance was broadcast on the Central Television and gathered a lot of admiring reviews, not to mention the ovations of the spectators of the live performance. For the performance of this role, Nina Kaptsova was nominated for a Benois de la dance prize, but this time the luck did not smile at the young ballerina, which, however, did not disappoint her much, because it was much more important for the girl herself to develop her talent.

New dance season in BT

April 1999 was the season of new premieres: ballets by author George Balanchine "Agon" and "Symphony in C" inspired new ideas in the art of ballet. Nina Kaptsova also was a participant in this production - she was part of the dance trio. In general, 1999 was the year of Kaptsova's heyday as a ballerina. She participated in such bright productions as "Chopiniana", "Fantasy on the theme of Casanova", "Anyuta", "Don Quixote" and much more.

At the end of 1999, a competition was held at the Bolshoi Theater for the selection of new soloists for the main troupe. That time was the moment of truth, which showed that all the efforts made were not in vain - the soloist of the Bolshoi Theater was Kaptsova Nina. The ballet really was all her life, so the victory in the contest did not become so amazing.

Prima ballerina

In 2000, the ballerina opened up new prospects. Now she constantly took part in a wide variety of projects: she performed a solo role in Mozartiana, first participated as a dancer in the opera Ivan Susanin, and a little later she performed with her part of the Nutcracker at a concert in honor of the jubilee of her former coacher , The teacher of MGAH S. Golovkina. In the fall of 2000, the girl started working in the ballet "Sleeping Beauty", where she received the main role of Princess Aurora. Konstantin Ivanov in this production became her partner, with whom she did not cease communication after the dance season. Subsequently, it was for this role that the well-known ballet dancer, and then the chief director of the Bolshoi Theater's troupe, Sergei Filin, announced that Nina Kaptsova was now the new prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater. This happened on November 19, 2011.

Ballet "Romeo and Juliet"

Going back a bit, one can not help but note one more role, thanks to which the name of Nina Kaptsova became famous not only for the whole of Russia, but also went beyond. The ballet "Romeo and Juliet" by Sergei Prokofiev became another serious work in the career of the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater.

The debut in the role of Juliet took place in 2010. The partner of the dancer was Artem Ovcharenko. And in the future it was this ballet production that became one of the brightest projects in the life of Kaptsova.

Ballet dancer's preferences in ballet

As the prima ballerina herself said, she prefers to play, or rather live, the role of negative or complex antagonistic characters. By nature, tender and fragile, Nina Kaptsova from 5 years wished to perform the party of Odile, the Black Swan in the ball of PI Tchaikovsky.

The power, strength and characteristic charisma of this character have always attracted the ballerina. And although in her career she did not seem to have many opportunities to play on the stage of the "dark" character, each time she was enthusiastic about taking on the role she had been given. By the way, the dream to dance Swan Lake was fulfilled, but not on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater.
