History of creation

In 1996, a significant amount of railway equipment was assembled on the experimental ring of JSC VNIIZhT. It was named in honor of the creator and the very first director - Nikolai Akulinin.

The first exhibit of the museum

Immediately near the entrance there is a prototype of the Cherepanovs' locomotive engine. Yefim and Miron built the first land steamer (the old name of the locomotive) at one of the Nizhny Tagil factories (Vyisky Plant). And in Bulgaria he was nicknamed "Jogan", in Ukraine - "Kabanchik", in Lithuania - "Sheshyakoyis crocodilas". In the Magadan Region, Yakutia, Kamchatka and Chukotka, the car in question was called "Zurs" or "Crab". His cabin looked like an iron, so in the north-west it was called "Iron." It is also known that among the hunters of the Central Federal District, namely Ryazanshchina, this car, which has a unified zero body size (KUNG), acquired the nickname "Zenzubel".
