Mounting the slabs with your own hands

The installation of slabs is carried out according to the technology, which is used more and more by professional builders and domestic craftsmen. These products have a negligible weight, a reliable locking connection and convenient dimensions. All this allows you to install them without much effort, implementing the redevelopment of premises, as required by personal preferences.

Varieties and peculiarities of pasognillum articles

Before you start installing the pile-and-mortar plates, you need to understand what types of these products are on the market today. They are silicate and gypsum, the latter are made of the same material, to which a plasticizing admixture is added. For the production of silicate is used lime quicklime, as well as quartz sand, which are pressed and maintained in an autoclave.

Which plates to choose

If you want to give the walls heat-insulating qualities, it's better to prefer gypsum boards, they do not miss the sounds. However, silicates are able to withstand higher mechanical loads, and also absorb less moisture. Pazogrebnevye plates, the installation of their own hands which is very real, environmentally friendly, so they can be used to arrange living quarters. Materials are not flammable, do not rot, do not emit harmful substances into the atmosphere and are not deformed. On sale you can find solid and hollow slabs, which can reduce the weight of the masonry by 25%. If we talk about the dimensions of gypsum boards, they are equal to 500 x 667 x 80 mm. But silicate ones are more compact: 250 x 500 x 70 mm. Once you have understood all the supporting structures, you can start laying pile-and-groove products, but you need to do this before laying the finishing coat on the floor and carrying out the finishing works.

Preparation of tools and materials

Installation of slabs is carried out after the preparation of a certain set of tools and materials. These products can be installed in the center of the room, and also close to the wall, which goes outside the building or into a cold room. Forming double partitions, you can hide wiring, other systems and communications.

To separate the room into separate zones, you can use partitions, the height of which starts from 80 cm. For installation, you will need:

  • building level;
  • Adhesive composition;
  • Anchor dowels;
  • Gypsum solution;
  • putty knife;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Cement-sand mortar;
  • Staples;
  • Felt seal;
  • primer;
  • hacksaw;
  • Rubber mallet.

Site preparation

The installation of the slabs begins with the preparation of the place. To do this, check the flatness of the walls and floor, where the products will fit. If there are defects in the type of sags, then they should be disposed of by grinding. From cracks and depressions, the walls and the floor should also be freed, by sealing the errors with a cement-sand mix.

Once the substrate has dried, they should be covered with a primer. If in the process of overhaul you decided to install a partition, then on the floor and walls should indicate the line of adhesion. After the finish coat is cut into the markings in such a way that you can see the bottom. On the paint, wallpaper, decorative plaster to install the plates can not be, this applies to laminate, parquet and linoleum. If the surfaces have a decorative coating in the form of ceramic tiles, then it can not be removed, but the surface is first checked for strength.

Recommendations of a specialist

The installation of the slab should be carried out correctly, for this purpose, the cord should be stretched between the walls throughout the area, removing it from the floor surface by 30 cm. This will allow to control the vertical arrangement of the products. On the line of adhesion, it is necessary to glue the sealant, the width of which should correspond to the thickness of the plate. In the role of this material, bitumen impregnated felt or cork substrate can be used.

Work on the first series

The installation of the slab is not a difficult task, but it is necessary to approach this issue with the utmost care. To install the starting row of plates, it is necessary to cut down the lower ridges, using a hacksaw. The sealant is applied glue, which should be on a vertical and horizontal surface. The first plate is installed on the side where it will be adjacent to the wall. The perforated bracket is inserted into the groove. A few centimeters of the bracket should protrude over the plate part. To the wall it is fixed with screws or anchor dowels, which is true when you work with a concrete base.

The plate should be facing upward, it is leveled and pressed to the bases, tapping the kyanite. In the place where the second plate will adjoin, it is necessary to install a piece of staple and fix it with dowels to the floor. If it turns out that this product is installed unevenly, the rest will repeat the angle. In this scenario, the clutch will not be leveled, the lock joints will interfere. This explains the need to align the first plate of the lower row. On the side grooves and ridges, the composition is applied in such a way that the seams between the slabs are not thicker than 2 mm. Surplus mixtures should be cleaned with a spatula, checking the masonry with the building level. In the lower part, a bracket is fixed and fixed with anchor dowels to the floor. Each next product must be installed after setting the adhesive composition on the previous one.

Installation of the following rows

The installation of walls from pierreplant plates involves the displacement of the seams in the second and subsequent rows. To ensure this, the slab must be cut in half. At the end and beginning of the series, the clips must be fixed on the slices. It is necessary to do this in the place where the slices are adjacent to the wall. The glue should be more liquid, it should be applied to the lower and lateral grooves of each product. It is important at this stage to check the vertical and horizontal layout of the masonry. The next row is set only after the glue seizes in the second row.

Formation of the last row

The installation of partitions from pierreplants is usually not accompanied by difficulties. However, the whole process is important to pay special attention. For example, the top row should not be adjacent to the ceiling. Between the plates and the horizontal surface should be left approximately 1.5 cm. For this purpose, the brackets are fixed to the upper grooves of the final row with glue and screwed to the ceiling with dowels. After the installation is complete, the gap can be filled with foam, the excess of which after cutting is cut off.

Features of mounting plates Knauf

Knauf slabs, the installation of which involves the need to observe certain nuances, can be installed by the home master themselves. For example, when preparing, it is important to make sure that the base of the floor where the work will be done is stationary, smooth and stable. If there are irregularities that exceed more than 10 mm, then it is necessary to form an equalizing layer, it can be done only under the partition.

The surface is cleaned from dirt and debris, as well as oil stains, prior to handling. To prepare the mixture, it is necessary to fill the dry composition in a clean plastic container with water. The liquid should be at room temperature. The composition is mixed using a drill with a nozzle or an electric mixer. The solution is left for a few minutes, and then mixed again. It is recommended to prepare it in portions, one of which you can work out in the next half an hour.

Such a gypsum plaster board, which is assembled quite often independently, can be installed in one of two ways. The first involves the use of glue, which is applied to the concrete base. This method allows you to get a rigid mount. The composition is applied to the floor and walls in a uniform layer, and the average consumption for an 80-mm slab is approximately 2 kg per square meter. If the thickness of the partition increases to 100 mm, then the glue consumption will be equal to 2.5 kg.

The second method involves fixing to the walls, ceiling and floor through a cork elastic gasket. This method allows you to achieve a higher sound insulation, especially for impact noise, such as clapping doors and knocking. Such products are stacked with a crest or groove upwards. It is more practical to mount the groove on top, since it is more convenient to lay the adhesive than to try to spread it on the comb. If the comb is located on top, then it should be removed using a hacksaw with large teeth. Sometimes the elements are removed with the help of a roughing plane, until it is possible to get a smooth surface.

Peculiarities of mounting of the "Volma"

The "Volma" pile-gable plate, the installation of which is carried out using the same technology as described above, is a product whose total area is 0.33 m 2 . The plate is made of hydrophobic and plasticizing additives, which are supplemented with gypsum binders. In the manufacturing process, lithium technology is used. Designed products for the formation of partitions in rooms and buildings of different purposes with a normal and dry microclimate.

You can control the resulting plane by applying a rule or a regular rod to the wall at different angles. If necessary, the plane can be adjusted until the glue is set. It is important to ensure that the plates are glued together at four ends. The excess of the composition should be rubbed with a spatula before sealing the seam. Do not proceed with laying the second row, until you notice the remaining gap, for which a piece is prepared. The additional element will be the beginning of a new series. This will achieve a breakdown of vertical seams.

You will be able to carry out the installation of the slabs with your own hands, the tips presented in the article will help you in this. Of these, you can find out that it is necessary to upset the plates from the side and from above, using only a rubber kiyanku to do this so as not to damage the blocks. Do not neglect this rule, because otherwise it will not be possible to achieve a tight fit of the ridge and groove.

Adhesive for Fugen platens

If you have decided to purchase glue for the installation of slabs, you can pay attention to the mixture "Fugen", which is offered by Knauf. The square meter should take approximately 1.5 kg. If the joints between the sheets of gypsum board are sealed, then the consumption will be 0.25 kg. This mixture is a dry composition, which is made on the basis of gypsum and polymer additives.

A solution is intended for sealing seams and cracks. For cooking, the dry mixture is poured into a container of cold water. At 1.9 liters of water will need 2.5 kg of composition. After the uniform distribution of the dry mixture it is necessary to hold it for 3 minutes and mix until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Its consistency should resemble thick sour cream.

Conclusion

If you plan to make a window or doorway when laying a partition, you need to think about the technology of attaching the plates above it. If the opening has a width not exceeding 80 cm, then the product can be mounted on a box or temporary support. This is true on the condition that there will be one row of blocks on the opening. If the width is greater than the specified value or there are several rows, it is necessary to form a strong jumper.
