Monument to unborn children in Riga - pain and fear

In many countries of the world there are a huge number of monuments dedicated to this or that event. There are sculptures that cause a smile on their face, because they are dedicated to some merry event, but some installations make you cry. This, no doubt, can be considered a monument to unborn children in Riga, which many people cause tears.

In September 2012, an action called "For Life" was held in the Latvian capital, the purpose of which was to inform women and their families about the abortions and consequences that women can expect after this. At the beginning of the action, people were introduced to the installation, which was placed in Old Riga near the Hotel de Rome. The monument to unborn children consists of 27 sculptures in the form of small children. Why exactly 27? As many abortions, according to statistics, are daily done in Latvia. Near each baby there is a small pedestal in which in three languages (Russian, English and Latvian) 27 stories are written, more precisely the reasons why the mothers of these kids decided on abortion. For example, a woman already has a child, and the husband is dead, and she decides that she can not grow two full members of society and agrees to an abortion. The author of this work is Eva Riekstiņa.

The organizers decided to at least in this way reach women who want to have an abortion. It is very important that such families have full information about this terrible decision, and most importantly they realized what will happen to them later. Since in such situations, most women are guided by fear, and they do not think they do.

The monument to unborn children in Riga attracts a lot of people, there is always someone on the square. There are always fresh flowers. People bring them and put them near the kids, expressing their sorrow and pain. The action calls on the people of Latvia and the guests of the country to reflect on this serious problem. Abortion is the murder of an unborn person yet, and are we entitled to decide who is worthy to live?

We can not judge or blame someone, but we must decide for ourselves. There are, of course, weighty reasons why women do an abortion, for example, a child's illness that leads to death, pathologies incompatible with life, and so on. And if a woman decides to have an abortion, because she simply does not need a child? The monument to unborn children in Riga is dedicated to this.

In addition to this installation, there is a monument in the Latvian capital dedicated to abortion. There is an inscription on it, which means "I wanted to live ...". Also in Slovenia there is a monument of a similar theme: a transparent girl is stroking the head of her mother, who is crying on her knees. She seems to forgive her for this terrible act. Monuments to unborn children, photos of which inspire horror, resentment, can not but touch, many people after their viewing seriously think about this issue. Similar monuments are established in Karlovc (Croatia), in Obřické (Poland).

The monument to unborn children in Riga can not leave anyone indifferent, because every inhabitant of the planet could be in the place of these poor children who wanted to live.
