Modern Russian cinema: the main personalities in the industry

Cinematography is one of the most complex and at the same time one of the most sought-after art forms. It's already much more than just movies. This is a multi-billion dollar business, which brings a huge income to filmmakers. However, it often happens that in the pursuit of big money the cinema loses the status of art and turns into a factory, monotonous and boring series of cliched pictures.

The blame for this is not only those who make the movie, but also those who watch it. Russian cinematography is not only producers and directors, but also spectators. After all, film companies will not allocate money for a good film, knowing that it will not be in demand at the box office. Unfortunately, the modern spectator is accustomed to the cliché and poverty of the cinema, so amusement films and household comedies collect much more money in cinemas than really worthy films.

Russian cinematography is the most affected, since scolding contemporary Russian cinema has become a familiar thing for people who really understand the cinema. And it can not be said that this is undeserved, because Russian films really lag far behind the world premieres, and even more so from Hollywood. This happens most often. However, studying Russian cinema, you can find exceptions, which can not but rejoice.

In fact, not everything is as bad as it seems at first glance. In Russia, there are really good directors and worthy actors who make contemporary Russian cinema interesting and quality. Some of them are better known, some less, but they share one thing - an honest approach to work and complete dedication in the pursuit of art.

The main figures of Russian cinematography

In the process of creating a film, every person is important, whether as assistant director, make-up artist or decorator. However, it can not be denied that the main director has a special role in the process, because he is responsible for the final result of the work of all members of the crew. So, what kind of people are creating a worthy contemporary Russian cinema?

Ilya Nayshuller

One of the youngest Russian directors. Ilya was born in 1983 in Moscow, now he is 33 years old.

The debut work of the director, which brought him wide popularity, was the experimental and very unusual film "Hardcore", released in 2015. In this film, Nishuller appeared not only as a production director, but also as a screenwriter, and his wife Daria Charusha acted as a composer.

The main feature of the film is that it is shot from the beginning to the end from the first person, which allows the viewer to immerse himself in the plot as much as possible and to look at the world through the eyes of the main character.

The film "Hardcore" was released under the production of Timur Bekmambetov, with whom many modern Russian film directors worked, and immediately gained a huge success both in Russia and abroad. By the way, the paintings in the US are more than three times higher than the fees in Russia.

Success did not become a reason for the young director to relax. In 2016, Ilya Nishuller receives a proposal to remove the story clip from the famous American pop artist The Weeknd. The clip is shot in the same style as the film "Hardcore", in the first person. The video was very dynamic and perfectly suited to the track of the artist. The clip is called False Alarm, and the plot is based on an unsuccessful bank robbery. At the moment the video has more than 60 million views.

Yuri Bykov

One of the most profound and serious directors in modern Russia is rightly considered to be Yuri Bykov. He was born in the small town of Novomichurinsk, Ryazan region in 1981. At the moment, the director is 35 years old.

For this person, cinematography is a means of revealing really important and acute social themes. He shows Russia as it is, without understating anything or exaggerating, his films are difficult to perceive, and only real connoisseurs of cinema can appreciate them.

The films "Major", "Fool", "Live" are rightly considered to be one of the best works of modern Russian cinematography.

As for the actors, there are not too many people who really deserve attention. However, there are really talented modern actors of Russian cinema who are completely devoted to their profession, and the result of their activities is appropriate.

Danila Kozlovsky

Danil was born in 1985 in Moscow. He studied at the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts, where he entered after graduating from the Cadet Corps, where many contemporary actors of Russian cinema studied.

Danil Kozlovsky starred in a lot of successful films that really deserve attention. Among them, one can mention the recently released "Crew" of Nikolai Lebedev, as well as the films "We are from the Future" and "Legend No. 17". The last film received the highest rating from the majority of Russian film critics.

Pavel Derevyanko

Paul was born in 1976 in Taganrog, at the moment he is 40 years old. As an actor, he participated in a huge number of films, each of which played well, but not all of them were successful.

Among the worthy paintings in which Pavel Derevyanko played, one can single out Alexander Cott's film "The Brest Fortress", as well as the picture of "Cook" directed by Yaroslav Chevazhevsky.

Finally

Modern Russian cinema is not so bad as it is often criticized by film critics. There are really worthwhile films, but in order to distinguish them in a sea of mediocrity, it is necessary to know the names of people who are really engaged in art, not making money. Modern stars of Russian cinema rarely think about art, but there are exceptions, which can not but rejoice.
