Medical groups for physical training: definition

A compulsory school program includes physical education classes. Such lessons are conducted in order to fully develop the kids both mentally and physically. Among other things, physical education lessons enable you to keep your body toned and maintain health, because you need to spend most of your time in a sedentary position behind the desk.

For the bulk of children, physical education is safe. However, there is always a whole list of schoolchildren who are not allowed to undergo certain loads on the body. They are included in the medical groups for physical training. Let's find out who belongs to this category of students, how the health groups are formed in educational institutions.

What factors can affect the deterioration of children's health?

There are a number of points that can negatively affect a child's health :

Criteria for division into health groups

Physical education in a special medical group can also be prescribed to children who suffer from chronic ailments.

To a special category are also children whose bodies are incapable of fully resisting certain environmental factors. In medical groups for physical training can reach children who have insufficient level of physical development for their age.

Assessment of the health of babies

The definition of a medical group for physical education is as follows:

The main medical groups for practicing physical culture in the school include students with a high and medium level of physical training, as well as children with temporary or insignificant deviations in health status. Preparatory group

Preparatory medical groups for physical training include children who are required to perform the program according to the prescriptions of doctors based on the results of the medical examination. Preparatory medical groups for practicing physical culture in the preschool and secondary school are formed from students who have a level of physical training below the average and do not have serious illnesses. Also, children with an average and high level of physical development who for this period of time suffer from deviations in the state of health can be enrolled.

Special group

In the presented category of students, children are enrolled who need classes according to special, individual programs, in view of deviations in health status. According to the generally accepted requirements of medical supervision, such schoolchildren are never completely exempt from physical education, although this practice takes place in Russian educational institutions. It is to this group of students that qualitatively planned physical activities are urgently needed, which contribute to the restoration of health.

As already noted above, in a special group of children are often distributed in the physical or therapeutic subgroups. In the first case, students can be engaged in the same conditions together with their classmates, but fulfill the requirements of the individual program.

As for therapeutic subgroups, they are formed from schoolchildren, who suffer from quite serious ailments, have significant deviations in physical development. Such children are prescribed extremely limited performance of intensive, complex exercises. In some cases, physical education lessons for them are conducted under the strict supervision of the teacher or a qualified medical specialist. As an alternative to physical training in the conditions of the school, children are sometimes assigned visits to special dispensaries, where they work with a special rehabilitation program.


The division of children into separate categories when practicing physical education in the conditions of an educational institution is a common practice. With noticeable progress in improving health, babies can be transferred to general groups. However, only on the basis of the results of special surveys or on the recommendations of doctors. According to generally accepted requirements, the transfer of students from one medical group to another is possible only after a comprehensive assessment of their health status at the conclusion of the training quarter.
