Leveling the floor in different ways

In the process of repairing the premises, many people face the need to carry out such a procedure as leveling the floor. Coming to this scrupulous process, you need to know exactly what the room is intended for, the alignment method will depend on it. There are several ways to bring the floor to the desired appearance and several stages of accomplishing this task.

The main stage before the process of floor leveling is the preparation of the surface. To begin with, it is cleaned of dust, paint, and oil stains. Another important procedure that you should not forget about when leveling the floor is fixing all the cracks in the base. If this procedure is not followed, then all cracks will lead to material leakage.

Floor leveling should be done using dry mixes for this purpose. The connecting link will be non-shrinkage cements and fine sand. Having done the priming work, a level is set on the surface (you can use a stretched cord or beacon profiles). Next is the creation of a cover. The mixture fills the entire space between the beacons, and gently aligned with the spatula. In order to get a smooth surface, the screed is covered with the final leveler.

The leveling of the floor with plywood begins with the layout of the plywood sheets on the entire surface without fasteners. Further, the sheets are adjusted to fit the desired dimensions of the room. They should not come in contact with the walls. The surface of the plates must be leveled. In this process, it is important to maintain normal ventilation. Further soundproofing backfill is laid on the entire surface of the slabs. Then the lags are laid, touching the soundproofing so that no gaps remain. The logs are supported by wooden linings. Leveling the floor in this way requires a certain accuracy, so the surface of the log must be located at the same level. Further, the crate is measured and prepared, then plywood is piled onto it and fixed. It must be impregnated with an antiseptic. The permissible gap between the sheets is 0.2 to 0.4 mm.

Alignment of the floor under the tile is carried out using a sand cement cement or gypsum fiber. Now consider a sand-cement screed, which can be purchased already in ready-made form. This kind of leveling begins with cleaning the floor surface, and then laying the prepared mortar. The applied solution is leveled and left for a day for curing. The installed beacons are removed and the cooked mass is poured into the formed slots. The screed should be moistened twice or covered with polyethylene twice a day. It is necessary to close the windows, doors, in order to avoid increased air circulation. If this is not observed, then on the screed there will be cracks. It will be ready after 28 days.

Gypsum fiber screed is used a little differently. In the last few years, it has been used instead of cement and sand. The point is that water is not used for leveling, so the screed can be used immediately after laying.

Gypsum fiber sheets are 48 hours acclimatized before use. During this process, all cracks and cracks in the floor should be eliminated as much as possible. Then overlap polyethylene on the walls, the edges are attached to the walls. After leveling the dry backfill with two layers, the gypsum fiber sheets are laid. Under a sheet of the second layer, the adhesive solution must be applied and screwed with screws to the bottom sheet. The grooves are primed. Each lump is smeared and leveled. Do not forget to sand the surface with a primer.
