Kuala Lumpur - the capital of Malaysia

In 1857, tin finders led by Raji Abdullah landed off the banks of the Gombak and Klang rivers. In this place was a small village, which eventually turned into a city. In 1896, the Federation of Malaya was formed, and the city of Kuala Lumpur became its capital.

The history of the city was greatly influenced by the British government. This can be seen in its architecture, traffic system, planning, style of life, in which the traditions of foggy Britain and local Muslim customs are surprisingly harmonious.

Everyone here speaks English, though a little distorting words, but you can understand what is being said. In 1957 the Federation of Malaya became independent. From now on, Kuala Lumpur is the permanent capital of Malaysia. The city does not have such a rich and ancient history as, for example, the cities of India or China, but it is extremely colorful, and there is something to see.

The city is located at an equal distance from the northern and southern borders of the country, has a well-developed and well-organized transport infrastructure. Has its own airport, designed according to the latest technologies.

The largest metropolis, drowning in greenery and flowers - this is Kuala Lumpur, whose attractions are striking combination of old buildings with modern skyscrapers. And the lush nature only emphasizes this contrast.

Sights of Kuala Lumpur do not have a centuries-old history, but they all arouse the interest of the guests of the capital. The first thing that the guide will show you is, of course, the original twin towers. This is a complex architectural design, which is connected by an air bridge. At the top of the tower have an eight-pointed star, consisting of two squares - a Spanish symbol of integrity. In the interior of the towers there are numerous offices, an art gallery, conference halls, the main shopping center of the city and a concert hall.

The ultra-modern capital of Malaysia impresses all those coming here. Next to the magnificent twin towers is the oldest mosque of the city - Masjid Djamek. It is located exactly in the place where the huts of the first settlers once appeared. The mosque is built in Indian style, has large onion domes and refined arched collonades.

The capital of Malaysia has its own National Museum, which can rightly be proud of the unique collection of works by local artists, folk crafts, national costumes, weapons, antiques.

Once a tiny village, and today a modern metropolis, the capital of Malaysia is especially good in the evening, when it is colored with a lot of colorful lights. Tourists relax in cozy cafes in the open air, listen to pleasant music. Traffic in the city does not stop almost never. Especially a lot of motorcyclists here, who prefer to travel in groups, creating an incredible roar around themselves.

All major credit cards are accepted for payment in Kuala Lumpur. In the city there are many shopping complexes, the main of which are in the center.
