Knitted snowmen. We knit the snowman with our own hands

Making soft toys and figurines offers endless possibilities for self-expression to lovers of knitting. Due to the small size and simple patterns, this work is very quick and easy to perform. In addition, it is an excellent opportunity to utilize the accumulated remains of yarn of different colors and textures.

Knitted snowmen (with their spokes they are not harder to perform than crochet) can serve as an ornament for the interior, New Year tree or table. Also they are often used as small presents or in addition to a gift.

What materials will be required?

Yarn can be used literally any. That is, it can be a fluffy or smooth thread, thin or thicker (maximum 200 m / 100 grams). Of course, the main thread must be white or very light, for example bluish, pinkish or with peach tinge.

Knitted snowmen (with many spokes own knitting needles and will be able to do this) can not do without carrots and a peephole, so you need to stock up with an orange thread and a sewn decor. You will also need material for packing (sintepon or cotton wool). The other elements that decorate the figures in the photo can have absolutely any color, shape and pattern. Their appearance depends solely on the desire of a knitter.

Needles for work should be selected taking into account the thickness of the yarn. It is better to give preference to more subtle instruments, as they will allow to create a thick canvas. In order for all the details of the snowman to have the correct form, do not stretch and do not shine through, they should be performed rather tightly.

Knitted snowmen (knitting needles): master class

All indications regarding the number of loops refer to a thread with a thickness of about 400 m / 100 grams. If the selected yarn is thinner, then the finished product will be smaller. To correct them, the method of proportional increase in the number of loops and rows should be applied. For example, multiply by 30%. For a thick thread, the same approach is used to reduce the size of the snowman.

First you need to make a trunk and head. They knit with one long cloth. You should dial 18 loops, close them in a ring and start knitting in a circle. To do this, you can use as many spokes as you can comfortably master, from two to four. To give details the correct form, it must be consistently expanded by the uniform addition of six loops in a row. Expand each row from the first to the eighth.

The preservation of web density remains an important point. Additions should be made not by the method of shaping the capes, but by tying new loops from the broaches between the existing loops.

Thus, in the eighth row, there will be 42 loops. Further up to the 39th row inclusive it is necessary to knit exactly.

In the 40th row, the canvas should be slightly reduced, since the head has a slightly smaller size than the body of the snowman. For this purpose, six loops are evenly removed (two front ones are tied with one).

Up to the 60th row, knit unchanged. Then, for four rows, you need to cut six loops in each row. The basis for making a figure of a snowman is ready.

Filling the basic part with synthepon

This procedure should be done carefully, so as not to greatly stretch the edges of the holes. Synthepone is pushed in small portions inside the base and forms two lumps on both sides of it, and the holes are tightened with a thread and carefully sewed. It is impossible to admit that the padding material was not enough, since this would lead to a slovenly appearance of the whole figure.

At the next stage, a knitted snowman will receive a formed silhouette. To separate the head from the trunk and create the impression of two balls placed on top of each other, you need to flush the canvas around the perimeter with a needle with a strong thread. This work should be done along one row, as in the photo.

After tightening and fixing the thread, the figure shown in the photo below is obtained.

Handles knit quite simply, you need to type on the spokes six loops and perform 26 rows of facial smoothness. Then close all the loops or pull them together in a bundle.

Another way to make the details is to knit the fabric of the six loops with a double rubber band. It is performed as follows: one face loop (LP) is sewn, the second is removed unrolled. Thus it is necessary to watch, that broaching of a thread was from the front side of a cloth (before work). Thus knit all 26 rows. The resulting part is flat, neat, and does not need to be stitched.

Mittens for the Snowman

This decorative element is knitted in a circle. They recruit 12 loops and divide them into so many spokes, which are convenient for the master. The first two rows should be knitted with knitted viscous, the next 3 - handkerchief. Further, all rows up to the 13th inclusive are performed by knitting.

In the 14th row, the canvas should be cut into three loops. Reduction should be carried out evenly, through the same number of loops. The actions are repeated when knitting the 15th and 16th rows. The remaining hinges on the spoke are carefully tightened with a thread. Finished gloves should be provided with large fingers, while knitted snowmen (with their spokes, as you can see, all the stages of work are performed) will receive a more plausible and detailed appearance. They are knit from two stitched hosiery loops to a height of 3-4 rows. Then sew on the front side. Fingers are sewed to mittens in appropriate places.

Sewing hands with mittens will be possible after placing a small amount of sintepon inside the parts.

Nose-carrot

It is difficult to imagine such a toy as a knitted snowman (you can easily make it with your own hands), without a characteristic orange nose. To perform it, you need to tie the part in a circular fashion (on two or three spokes). The starting line includes six loops. Cloth knit exactly on the height of five rows, then, in the 6th, three loops cut, and the rest are pulled together.

At this stage it is already possible to collect the related details and see what happens.

If desired, you can insert a wire into the hand pieces. Eyes buy in the store fittings and put on the glue, the line of the mouth is formed with the help of embroidery.

Fabrication of the feet

Flat wide boots are necessary for giving the figure proportionality and stability. A knitted snowman (step by step, perform each step of the work) is equipped with legs, connected, like children's booties. The only difference is a small scale.

Begin work on two spokes from the bottom edge of the part. It is required to collect six loops and tie two rows of garter stitch. Then you need to add four loops in each row. However, the expansion is not done evenly, but only in the central part. To maintain symmetry, you need to designate the center of the canvas and add two loops on each side of the mark (with an interval of one loop). Thus, 15 rows are knit.

From the 16th to the 28th row, the canvas should be knit with a stocking. The upper part of the feet is knitted on the contrary: the fabric will shrink in the same way as before it expanded. In each row the part is cut into four loops (front only).

In the process of knitting the last two rows, you should evenly cut six loops, and the remaining ones should be closed.

Ready-made shoes should be sewn from behind and filled with sintepon. Now they can be sewn to a snowman.

Decoration of a figurine

Knitted snowmen are decorated with any accessories at the discretion and desire of the master. These are berets, scarves, hats, knitted buckets or something else. Also look good figurines with sewn snowflakes, sequins, beads and other accessories.

Beret, who is wearing snowmen in the photo, is bound in the following way:

1. They recruit 40 loops.
2. From 1 st to 4 th row knit with an elastic band.
3. In the 5th row, the number of loops is doubled. For this, one of the usual and one crossed a loop is fastened from each (so that there are no openwork holes).
4. Up to the 30th row, knit exactly with facial smoothness.
5. All loops thread on a strong thread and tighten the canvas.
6. Perform a side seam and sew a pompon.

Beret can be performed not simply by smoothness, but by some kind of pattern, for example, braids or azure.

A self-made knitted snowman can be an independent decoration unit or an element of a composition. As a rule, scenes involving such figures are very popular with children.
