Such a fate befell the first car in the world. In 1885, Benz showed his creation to the citizens of Mannheim. As a result, from the noise of the motor, the butcher's horse spoiled all the goods. The inventor had to compensate for the loss. As they say, "the first pancake is lumpy." However, Karl did not give up and after a year improved the car.

At the time, the invention of the car did not cause much admiration from the citizens. True success was realized by the mechanic, when his wife and two sons made a 180-kilometer trip to their relatives. At that time it was an extreme undertaking. Model "Velo" is considered the first car, which was put on a batch production (about 381 units). Russia saw the novelty in 1894.
