Kanzashi in Ukrainian style: a master class on creating a wreath

Kanzashi is a technique for making flowers from ribbons. The history of this art began in Japan, where hair decorations made in this style were part of the costume and reflected the social status of the woman.

Now girls who follow fashion trends tend to use hairpins and rims made of silk and satin, created by craftsmen in tsumami technique (folding). They are made as follows: from small square pieces of tissue, petals of round or pointed shape are formed, of which buds of flowers are gathered.

An unusual accessory is a wreath or a kanzash hoop in the Ukrainian style. It perfectly complements an ethnic dress, can become the final detail of a vivid image for a photo shoot against the background of nature. Making this decoration by oneself is quite easy.

Poppy for a wreath with your own hands

We start making a kanzash hoop in the Ukrainian style with the assembly of poppies. They need a scarlet tape 5 cm wide. We make cardboard blanks for petals of two sizes: 4.5x5.5 cm with a base of 3 cm and 4x4.5 cm with a base of 2 cm. Then we make 10 large and 10 small petals on them One flower. We sing the edges with a lighter or a candle, giving the petals volume and bending in different directions to make them uneven, like real poppies.

Cut out of the felt a circle, 4 cm in diameter and paste a number of large petals on it with a pistol. Next, glue the petals of a smaller size. Then decorate the middle of the flower, cutting the billet of black stamens in half. There will be five such halves. We glue them around in the center of the bud. Now cut out a 5 cm-wide ribbon from a 5x5 circle and collect it around the edge of the thread.

We pull the fabric, placing in the center a piece of sintepon, and we tie the ends of the thread. This will be the core of the flower. It remains only to patch it from the middle to the edges in a circle, dividing into several segments, and paste. Mac is ready. You can use the second variant of making this flower: sew the petals with a thread, distributing them in staggered order, and make stamens out of a kapron thread.

How to make chamomile

We decorate the Ukrainian wreath of Kanzash with daisies. Take the white tape and cut it into squares of 5x5 cm. We make 9 round petals in tsumami technique, folding the fabric several times. While holding the band with tweezers, cut off the corner and scorch its tip with a lighter. Then cut off the side and repeat the procedure again. When all the petals are ready, glue them together in a circle. Seretinku made from a half-buff yellow, attaching it in the center.

Cornflower for rim in Ukrainian style

Let's start creating cornflowers. To do this, you need a blue ribbon 5 cm wide. Cut out 5 squares from it and make sharp Kanzash petals. We glue them with each other, except the last one. For the core, you need blue stamens (you can use yellow if there are no blue shades) - put them in the center and glue them. Collect the flower, in addition we apply glue on the back of the bud and cut off the extra "tails". It remains to make leaves for the kanzash rim in Ukrainian style.

Leaves from satin ribbons

For the leaves, we take a ribbon with a width of 2.5 cm in green and cut off 8 cm from it. We make them with a soldering iron, folding the tape in half facing out and pressing the ruler diagonally across it. Leaf will need 10 pieces. From the felt we cut an oval piece of 10x5 cm, fold it in half and make two slits nearer to the edge, to pull it onto the rim. String, we glue the details together.

Spikelet Kanzashi

If desired, the product can add spikelets. He needs a yellow and olive satin ribbon 5 cm wide and golden brocade of the same size. Cut the squares of 5x5 cm and produce double sharp petals. One spike will require 7 pieces. From the green tape we make sharp leaves and glue them from the wrong side.

Assembling the product

It remains to collect a wreath or a kanzash rim in the Ukrainian style: the leaves of the tape are glued along the perimeter of the felt to prepare a substrate for the bouquet. In the center we put a poppy, on each side of it we glue 3 artificial berries, chamomile and cornflower. The accessory is ready. If it was planned to make a wreath and flowers more, you can make two or three felt plates and fill them, combining different buds.
