John the Baptist prayer for peace of mind and headache

The Prophet and Baptist of the Lord is one of the most revered saints in the Orthodox Church. People turn to John the Forerunner, whose prayer always very soon reaches the ears of God, in various worldly troubles. However, especially often his help is requested by pilgrims, who suffer from headaches and spiritual ailments.

Christmas of the Saint

We can learn about the life of John the Baptist only from the Gospel text. The saint of God was born at the beginning of the first century AD in a pious Christian family. His parents were the righteous Zechariah and Elizabeth. The Christmas of the great New Testament prophet was foreshadowed by one miraculous event.

The priest Zechariah was already in a very old age, when the archangel Gabriel descended on him during the service and announced the imminent appearance of his son. The father of the future preacher of Christ strongly doubted the words of the heavenly messenger. For this the Lord punished him with dumbness.

Soon Elizabeth really could conceive a son. When the woman was already in the last months of pregnancy, her house was visited by the Blessed Virgin herself, who was her distant relative. This meeting was described in detail by the evangelist Luke.

According to the testimony of the latter, the baby Elizabeth, hearing only the greeting of the Virgin, "joyfully leaped in the belly."

Name name

The son of Elizabeth was born six months earlier than the Savior. On the eighth day, following the injunction of the Jewish law, the parents took the baby to the Temple in Jerusalem, where he was to be named. Elizabeth, following the dictates of the Spirit of God, called the born firstborn John. The relatives who were present at the temple were surprised, since no one in their family ever bore such a name. However, the father, who was near, picked up a wooden tablet and wrote the word "John" on it. At the same moment, Zechariah again found the gift of speech and began to praise the merciful Lord. The Holy Prophet announced to all those gathered in the church about the imminent coming of the Messiah into the world. To proclaim the appearance of the Savior will be entrusted to John the Forerunner himself. The prayer of a righteous man can lead many people to a heartfelt repentance and confession of their sins.

On the same day, throughout Hebron, the news of the wonderful birth of the baby was heard. Many residents believed that little John - the future ruler of the Jewish people.

And in the home of the parents of the baby, joy finally settled. At that time, families that could not have children were despised by people. The Jews believed that dishonor flourished in their homes, for which the Lord certainly punished childlessness.

The Death of Zechariah

But in a very short time, Zacharias and Elizabeth had to go through a new test. King Herod, who at that time ruled in Judea, having learned from the magi who came to him about the birth of the long-awaited Messiah, ordered the killing of all babies born recently. The groan and cry of unhappy mothers could reach the house of little John. To save her only child from cruel punishment, Elizabeth hurried to hide in the Hebron mountains. Zechariah remained in the city and continued to perform services. When the servants of the Herods reached Hebron, they first looked into the Jerusalem temple. Seeing Zachary, he began to demand that he give the place of shelter for his son. But the holy righteous only humbly said that he was not afraid of death at the hands of the ungodly. The latter, hearing such an answer, immediately killed the parent of the Forerunner. Zacharias fell between the altar and the altar, and his blood became a stone in an eternal reminder of the crime committed by Herod.

Escape to Hebron Mountains

The warriors, leaving the body of the holy prophet in the temple, hastened to search for the rest of his family. In a very short time they found a righteous Elizabeth with a baby near one of the mountains. The saint, seeing the murderers of her husband, according to the Church Tradition, cried out her grief for help, and she, having parted, hid her and John from the eyes of the soldiers. Forty days after the death of the holy prophet Elizabeth herself reposed. But the grace of God was also revealed this time to the little John the Baptist, whose prayer in the near future was to lead to the salvation of the Jews. Father and mother to the baby was replaced by the angel of the Lord, who every day brought him water and drink.

The Baptism of the Savior

The first time the prophet John appeared to people in the desert. His appearance was a real event for the Jewish people. The saint of God proclaimed to people about the imminent coming of Christ, before which each mortal must necessarily bear the fruits of sincere repentance. His preaching was so deep and sincere that people from all over the country came to listen to her. Keeping in mind the hot speeches of the prophet of God, filled with the grace of the Holy Spirit, they opened up more and more sins, which immediately hastened to confess before the Forerunner. Finally, it's time to come to him and the Savior, who, like the rest of the people, chose the holy righteous himself as the Baptist.

The Execution of the Prophet

John was always a true adherent of the piety of Christ and never bowed down to even the mighty of this world. Learning that the young ruler of the country Herod illegally cohabits with Herodias, the wife of his brother, he immediately hastened to convict him before the whole people. Enraged wife decided at all costs to ruin the saint of God, whom even the tsar himself feared. For this, she sent her daughter Salome to one of the festivities arranged by Herod. The latter performed a dance in front of the ruler, which pleased him very much. Herod promised to fulfill any of her requests, and the girl immediately announced the bloody desire of her mother. The upset tsar ordered the beheading of John the Baptist.

The body of the prophet was buried by his disciples. Subsequently, the head of the saint was worshiped thrice. Prayer to John the Forerunner helped in his time to save many relics from extermination, including the relics of God himself. During the persecutions of the church of Christ, the prophet's head miraculously disappeared, and then appeared again, thus avoiding mockery from ungodly hands.

Prayer to John the Baptist for headache

During the life of the saint, the saint has repeatedly shown his help to people. However, even after death, the Baptist of the Lord continues to participate in the organization of many human destinies. Perhaps none of the saints, except the Virgin, is so close to the Lord as St. John the Baptist. His prayer helps to get rid of many bodily ailments. People who suffer frequent migraine headaches, first of all, try to turn to the saint of God. Already collected more than a thousand evidence of the miraculous intercession of the Lord's Baptist.

Prayer to John the Baptist from The headache was helped once by a twenty-year-old parishioner of the Moscow Stavropegic Ioanno-Predtechensky Monastery to get rid of a permanent migraine. Another, even more miraculous event occurred in the same monastery in 2002. One woman had a brain tumor. She had a very difficult operation with trepanation of the skull. Then the patient, far from the faith, came to the local image of the saint. After prayers at the icon of the Baptist, she again underwent a survey. No tumor was found. Doctors only puzzled with their hands.

Prayer to John the Baptist Forerunner in spiritual ailments

However, the saint is resorted not only during bodily diseases. Prayer to John the Forerunner for calming the soul is the surest means of sudden despondency and anxiety.

One woman, who was baptized at a later age, dreamed of bringing her children to the temple. Her daughter was able to gain faith soon enough. But the son persistently did not want to go to church. Then desperate to change something the woman went to help her confessor. The latter, after listening to her, advised every day to turn to John the Forerunner. The prayer of the holy saint soon helped to bring his son to the walls of the temple. The young man gained faith and was baptized.

The holy saint of the Lord always hastens to respond to any prayer request. But people who turn to him for help need to remember what the prophet of God first taught during his lifetime. St. John appealed primarily to repentance. It is only through the sacrament of confession that an Orthodox Christian can unite with the Lord and become a true member of the church of Christ.
