Section 1. General description of the direction

France is an amazing country of love and romance, which is considered a favorite holiday destination for tourists from all over the globe.

"Sights of France" - a photo that is in the family collection of almost every tourist. However, it can also be very, very different: someone is photographed against the backdrop of the famous Eiffel Tower, someone will definitely want to walk along the quiet and narrow streets of provincial towns, or maybe go to the ocean shore.

And the country is also fascinated by stunning landscapes and monuments, exquisite cuisine and delicious wine, as well as a peaceful way of life.

Places of interest in France, photos and descriptions of which will be presented below, are not chosen by chance. Travelers often do not know about their existence, and numerous tourist booklets give very scant information.

On the whole, it should be noted that the nature of the country is quite diverse. Here you can see mountain ranges and green meadows, lush forests and calm plains, azure beaches and quiet coves. All this served as inspiration for many famous artists, writers and poets. And of course, Paris is the capital of France.

Section 2. The most visited place in Paris: Sacre Coeur Basilica

If you tell about the sights of France, the Eiffel Tower is, perhaps, the first thing that comes to mind. Although, as the experienced travelers say, in Paris there are many others, no less, and, perhaps, even more interesting places.

For example, the Sacre Coeur Basilica, built in memory of the victims of the Franco-Prussian War, is one of the symbols and main temples of the state, where pilgrims from the French provinces and other countries gather.

Interesting information about the sights of France is often associated with the time of their construction. So in our case: the erection of the Basilica of Sacre Coeur lasted more than four decades. Today it is a real masterpiece of architecture. Once for its construction was chosen an unusual mineral, mined in Chateau-Landon. It becomes white under the influence of moisture. It is thanks to this stone that the cathedral has a snow-white appearance.

France ... Paris ... Attractions, or rather, most of them, can be seen from the hill on which the basilica is located. From here, in fact, there is a stunning panorama of the entire main city of the country. This is a favorite place for walking not only guests of the capital, but also local residents. Especially a lot of visitors on Christmas, when the temple is organized fairs and festivities. The cathedral impresses with its beauty and a huge number of tame pigeons. The main entrance is decorated with two bronze horsemen, and the interior decoration impresses the imagination with a wonderful ceiling mosaic and statues of saints.

Section 3. Mysterious Castle If

It is impossible to imagine the interesting sights of France without mentioning the next place.

In the distant past, the inhabitants of Marseilles were not pleased with the proximity of the castle of If, and they called it "a pesky neighbor". He was built in a short time, in the period 1524-1531, on the island of If by the decree of the French King Francis I in order to defend the city from attacks from the sea. But the fortress was never attacked, and as a result it became an impregnable prison. Here in the terrible dungeons contained political prisoners and Protestants who were enemies of the king.

The fame of the fortress was brought by the heroes of the novel by Alexander Dumas "The Earl of Monte Cristo" - the prisoner of the "Iron Mask" and Edmond Dantes. However, in fact, these characters were never in the castle, and Dantes in general is a fictional hero. Today, the castle of If is considered a visiting card of Marseilles, excursions are held here. One of the chambers on the ground floor was specially assigned for Dantes. On the screen of the installed TV you can see episodes from various films, showing a meeting of heroes from the novel Dumas. The camera of the mysterious prisoner "Iron Mask" is on the second floor of the castle.

For visitors to the castle of If on the island there are cafes, from which a magnificent view of Marseille opens.

Section 4. Normandy

For many travelers, especially for those who prefer outdoor recreation, France's main attraction is not in the capital, but far to the north-west of the country, in Normandy.

These lands are located off the coast of the English Channel, namely from the Bay of Saint Malo to the delta of the Brel River. This area is famous for its picturesque landscapes, evergreen valleys and sky, which during the day acquires various shades - from blue to gray.

Once these places were loved by the Impressionists. Here the great artist Claude Monet lived and created his canvases . Its pink house with green shutters still attracts many tourists.

Normandy is also known for other outstanding creative personalities, among which are Maupassant, Proust, Flaubert.

The province has a mysterious power and as if created for romance and bohemian life. Especially popular with Normandy resorts: Deauville, Honfleur, Trouville.

Section 5. Scandola National Park

Interesting information about the sights of France can be found in the south-western part of the island of Corsica. Why? The fact is that it is here that Peninsula Scandola is located, which in 1983 received the status of a national reserve.

To date, the park is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can get to the territory of Scandola only from the sea side and with a special pass. For this reason, a tourist visit to the reserved peninsula is limited to sea walks along the coastline and photography of local attractions. Excursions are conducted daily, from June to September.

The peninsula appeared more than 250 million years ago due to active volcanic activity. Tourists are especially attracted by porphyry rocks, whose age is millions of years old. The rocks rise over the sea about three hundred meters and have unusual dark red and purple hues. Sheer cliffs are riddled with grottoes.

The sea here is dark blue and crystal clear. In the coastal waters of the bays of Žirolata and Porto, there are seals, sea turtles, many varieties of fish and algae. The land fauna of the peninsula is also rich. There are dozens of rare species of birds, including sea eagles, the peregrine falcon and the luni.

Section 6. Attraction for fans of extreme sports

France is rich and diverse. Paris, whose attractions are known all over the world, does not always appeal to fans of active pastime.

The most courageous and brave, loving thrills, can without hesitation go to the mountains and make a step into the void. At the highest point of Mont Blanc, the peak of Aiguille du Midi, at an altitude of about 4 thousand meters above sea level, a glass cabin was built, called Pas dans le vide ("Step into emptiness"). This is the most beautiful observation deck in the world, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Mont Blanc.

Construction of the cabin lasted three years. High quality materials and the most durable glass, resistant to the most difficult weather conditions and corresponding to safety standards were used for the construction. At the same time, the authors of the project Pas dans le vide made it possible to make such an excursion to people suffering from acrophobia. To reach the top of Aiguille du Midi, you can use two lifts. Perhaps someone such a trip will help to get rid of the fear of heights forever.

The cost of the visit is 55 euros.

Section 7. Tribute to modernity and scientific progress

400 km from Paris, not far from Poitiers, is the Futuroscope complex. It is a park of attractions of virtual reality, where with the help of high-tech equipment, special effects and stereophiles you can witness the actions taking place on huge screens. Here everything is devoted to innovative discoveries and visual technologies. Huge cinema halls equipped with moving chairs, 3D movies, a cinema history museum, an unusual architecture - all this is the park of the future "Futuroscope".

Admire the beautiful view of the entertainment center with a 45-meter high can be at the attraction La Gyrotour. Inside the crystal of unusual shape is installed a huge screen measuring 600 square meters. M., Having a height of 7-storey building. Here is the only IMAX cinema in the world that uses 70 mm film to display.

The dynamic cinema hall is intended for fans of thrills. Armchairs connected to the hydraulic system, and a selection of thematic films create the effect of virtual reality. The Coulers Bresil Pavilion, consisting of 9 screens and 9 projectors, is a panoramic 360 degree panorama. Here you can choose an image from the center of the system.

And in the Palace of Congresses of the park there are business negotiations and space bridges.

The park is open all year round. There is a network of snack bars and cafes on its territory, which offer its guests French cuisine.

In conclusion, I would like to note that the famous sights of France - the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Champs Elysees - will be sure to admire and impress the imagination with their greatness, but those who really want to get acquainted with the country are advised to abandon stereotypes and Strive deeper, away from hacked tourist routes.
