Who is actually the vice-governor of Petersburg Igor Albin? And why do some call him Slunyaev?

Igor Albin: biography of the early years

The life history of the vice-governor begins on October 4, 1966. It was on this day that Igor Slyunyaev was born in the city of Isilkul (Omsk region). That's how his surname sounded from the very beginning, which he wore until 2014. Almost all of Igor's childhood was spent in the Vozvyshensky district of the North-Kazakhstan region (Kazakh SSR). The boy's parents were not rich people, and therefore after graduation, he immediately went to work in Karaganda State University. This allowed him to attend evening courses, which were conducted specifically for the staff of the university. Thanks to the acquired skills, he quickly changed the place of a simple worker to the position of a university assistant.

In 1984, Igor Albina was drafted into the army. The future politician gave his debt to the homeland while serving in the airborne troops. After demobilization in 1986 he entered the Moscow State University. Lomonosov Moscow State University. Here he mastered the specialty of a chemist-technologist, however, he did not want to work on it. In 1988, he settled in the internal affairs bodies, which opened him access to the Moscow higher police school. In 1992 Igor Albin successfully graduated from this educational institution and became a secretary in the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth League (Komsomol). From 1994 to 1996, he held the post of chairman of the board of Mossibinterbank. The period of life becomes crucial in the life of the future vice-governor, since it is in these years that he decides to go into politics.

The beginning of political career

The first significant victory of Igor Albin was his appointment to the post of Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Cooperation with the CIS countries in 1996. Such a push led to the fact that the newly-made politician entered the Russian Academy of Public Administration, which he successfully graduated in 1999. In the period from 2000 to 2004 he works as First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation. In addition, he is a member of the federal government commission dealing with the agrarian sector. In 2006, he becomes a representative of the executive power of the Altai Territory. As Governor of Kostroma

In October 2007, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested that deputies of the Kostroma regional Duma consider Igor Albin (then still Slyunyaev) as a candidate for governor. Characteristics from colleagues he got excellent. And already on October 25, 2007 Igor Albin became the governor of the Kostroma region. Alas, the new head of the region did not justify the hopes placed on him. While the country was in full swing with the crisis, Albin allowed his area to live on a broad scale. Frequent concerts, exhibitions, cultural events and festivities completely devastated the already depleted budget of Kostroma.

Another reason for indignation of the people was the fact that Albin invested a lot of money to replace the curbs. At the same time concrete "curbs" were produced at its own plant, which clearly indicated the financial interest of the governor. But the biggest failure for Igor Albin was the presidential election, which took place in 2012. So, in his area, V. Putin won the lowest percentage of votes, which cast a shadow on the reputation of the Kostroma politician. That is why in April 2012 Igor Albin voluntarily withdrew from the governor and left Kostroma.

Minister of Interregional Policy

But, despite the failed election campaign in Kostroma, Vladimir Putin did not turn his back on the former governor. In October 2012, he appointed Slyunyaeva Minister of Regional Development. In this position, Igor Albin proved to be an average politician. However, in 2013 he still received a public reprimand from the Russian president. The reason for this was too rapid a rise in tariffs. It was possible to avoid him, but the politician did not do his best.

Metamorfoz Slyunyaeva in Albina

According to the future vice-governor, last name Slyunyaev from the early childhood brought him a lot of trouble. For example, at school because of her young Igor often had to endure insults from classmates. Yes, and at a more mature age, he often embarrassed, saying it out loud. For a long time Igor Nikolayevich did not dare change his last name. The politician argued that this is the legacy of his father and just so he will not give it back. And yet in 2014 Slyunyaev turns into Albina, which immediately attracts public attention. However, this time Igor Nikolayevich has strong arguments in favor of such a metamorphosis. According to him, he conducted a genealogical study, within the framework of which it became clear that Albin is the historical family name of his family.
