Today we will talk about the HP 625 laptop, the characteristics of which are certainly worthy of attention. Since the middle of 2010, a newcomer has appeared in the Essential business class family, the parameters of which will be discussed below. The computer is made in full accordance with the slogan common to the entire model line: "The cheapest full-sized laptops." The laptop, like its neighbors in the line, has a strict functional design and high-performance components. The HP 625 has not only a progressive design, but also an increased capacity of the hard drive, a larger size of RAM, improved communication capabilities and, in comparison with competitors, a faster system. As we perform the tests, we determine how much the object of this article stands out among classmates, according to technical and consumer parameters.
We unpack and study
Just glancing at the box, it becomes obvious that inside is not some fashionable ultra-thin laptop, but a good working machine. Packaging for the HP 625 is large, made in black and without a plastic handle (it should be noted that this is not a big drawback, since the weight is small). In the delivery set, in addition to the device itself, there are:

Appearance
On the cover of the laptop, made of silver-violet, soft, corrugated plastic flaunts the emblem of Hewlett-Packard - HP. The shape of the body is straight, with a minimum number of angles and inclined surfaces, but they are not strictly straight, but slightly rounded. The HP 625 lid, although it lacks the "dog", but is closed tightly, the hinges are tight enough and look safe. On the front side are nests for connecting speakers or headphones and a microphone, to the left of them is a multifunction card reader. There is nothing behind, just a recess for installing the battery. On the right is a CD-DVD drive with a recording function, on the left there is a 56k modem port and two USB 2.0 ports. On the left side there is a vent hole, to the left is the VGA output slot, the LAN connection socket (RJ-45), the HDMI video output and one more USB port. Above all this wealth is also the ExpressCard 34. The HP 625 notebook has kept all communication capabilities of the former flagship model Compaq 615, but there are no significant changes in the hull design. To perform some elementary operation that requires access to constructive internal elements, for example, to replace the hard drive, it is necessary to remove the lower part. There is no compartment for rapid disassembly. Holes for ventilation from below are narrow, near the processor. The battery is fixed classically - in a horizontal position with the help of latches. The battery in the nest sits tight, there are no gaps.
Video and audio transmitting devices
The screen of the laptop is made on the matrix AUO22EC, with a ratio of (16: 9) and a diagonal of 15.6 inches. Color rendering options and LED backlighting enable you to watch movies in HD, thanks to the central chip and the Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics card. Built-in speakers are located above the keyboard and covered with a mesh lid. They do not represent anything special. The speakers produce a sound sufficient to use the laptop alone, but if a group of people wants to watch a movie, it's better to use a pluggable speaker. Sound card with ATI RS690 chip HDMI ATI SB800 makes it possible to enjoy HD sound. The camera is installed in a standard place - at the top of the cover, its functionality depends on the software.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The edges of the HP 625 touchpad are well-marked, the pad is recessed into the case. The touch surface is smooth, and the finger slides on it very easily. The scrollbar is located on the right side. The buttons in the touchpad are combined, respond to pressing well and predictably. The keyboard does not have a separate block for the number buttons. But it provides for some special functions. The keyboard layout is standard - QWERTY, on both sides are built-in function keys. The decision is ambiguous and controversial. Some people are very reluctant to use them.
HP 625: WiFi and connection quality
Communication adapter Broadcom 802.11b / g WLAN was checked by regular programs of the installed OS and special program Wireless Assistant, there are no special notes to it. The HP Advisor application allows you to configure the system, and also works as a statistics collector, monitors the updates installed on the program computer. Preinstalled programs are also pleasing: a trial version of MS Office and a free program Corel Home (using this editor, you can open Word, Excel and PowerPoint files). With the help of Roxio MyDVD you can process and create your own video files, and the popular McAfee antivirus will protect your system from attacks from the outside and from the inside. Sound mercantile, in the end, allowed Hewlett Packard to get rid of excesses in the architecture of a business laptop. The platform from AMD brought only positive changes in performance and quality of work, significantly increased parameters such as battery life and video quality.
