How to make breeding of broiler chickens at home successful?

Having decided to grow broiler chickens in your private home, do not be afraid that you will not be able to create suitable conditions. Growing broiler chickens at home is not particularly different from breeding other chickens. Many, trying to do broilers for themselves, estimated the ratio of possible economic effect and labor, deciding to create a small farm for several hundred heads.

The majority of people prefer poultry to these chickens, the weight of which usually does not exceed 2 kg. After all, young broiler meat is considered dietary, it is tender enough and soft, so it is recommended to give it to small children and elderly people.

Before you start growing chicken broilers at home, you should prepare for them all you need. To begin with it is necessary to take care of a place where there will be small chickens. It can be special boxes or cells with equipped light and heating. In the first 10 days the bird needs 24-hour lighting, then the light day gradually decreases to 16 hours. The area of the cell should not be too large or small, it is optimal if one child has 30 cm 2 .

To monitor the temperature and humidity level, place the thermometer and hygrometer in the chicken-room equipped. So that the breeding of broiler chickens at home began successfully, for diurnal babies it is necessary to maintain +30 ºС, lowering the temperature once a week by no more than 3 ºС. For three-week-old chicks, it is already quite enough +21 ºС.

It is worth noting that buying these chickens is better on specialized farms, where you will be able to guarantee the sale of meat-breed chickens that can grow to 1.2-1.7 kg in just a few months. The cheapest daily babies are the cheapest, but their survival rate is quite low, they are too sensitive to the smallest changes in temperature, humidity, and feed changes. If you want to be sure that the majority of acquired chickens grow in your house, then it is better to buy 10-day-old kids. It will be enough for them to provide room temperature in the room where they will be, to make lighting over the trough and the water bowl.

Particular attention should be paid to the nutrition of chickens. It is better to purchase a specialized mixed feed for broilers, made taking into account the age characteristics of the bird. In addition to food, take care about the conditions of finding chickens. In a cage or box, it is desirable to lay a thick litter of sawdust, sunflower husks or crushed corn cores, covered with wood shavings. One chicken must have at least 1 kg of this litter. As the contamination is changed, only the top layer.

If you do not have the opportunity to buy a good feed, broiler feeding should be organized as follows: corn, wheat, barley, oatmeal and sunflower cake in a ratio of 8: 4: 3: 2: 3. The cultivation of broiler chickens in this way at home gives good results: for 2 months in closed rooms chickens weighing 1.2-1.7 kg each are obtained, individual individuals reach 2 kg.
