Sometimes after reading the recipe in the cookbook, you get the impression that you read some strange encryption for the special agents. Blanching, letting in a little with butter, cooking until the "soft ball" - and this is not all the terms used by the chefs. But, perhaps, the most popular among them is the "water bath". How to do it, many do not know, but because they refuse such recipes. And completely in vain. Doing it simply, and the dishes cooked on a water or steam bath, are tasty and useful.

It is used in those cases when it is necessary to cook delicately and heat the dish no more than up to 100 degrees. The easiest way to make a water bath is to pour water into one pan, and put the second one in smaller size to it. In this, just put those products that need to be prepared. Usually this method is used for melting oils and chocolate, as well as cooking custard and a biscuit test for heating. Homemade cottage cheese is also made on a similar steam bath.

Thus, you can prepare meals for a couple - vegetables, fish and even meat. In fact, according to this principle, electric steamers work, which can now be bought at any household appliance store. Prior to their appearance, they used special pots with a double bottom. This method of cooking is considered the most dietary and useful.

Many, however, believe that the steam menu is suitable only for children or for those who adhere to a strict diet. In fact, a couple can cook a lot of original and delicious dishes. It can be a variety of soufflé, omelets and even muffins. Preparation on a water bath saturates them with additional moisture and makes it juicy, while preserving the entire benefit of the products. So the steam menu can be very diverse and not only dietary.

But this does not exhaust all cases when you need to know how to make a water bath. To make cheesecake, cake or souffle in the oven, often use this method of cooking. This is due to the fact that for gentle baking you need to soften the oven's high temperature and prevent cracking of the top. For this, it is necessary to pour the water in a deep baking dish so that it reaches the middle of the baking dish. If a detachable mold is used, it must be wrapped with foil to prevent moisture from entering. It is desirable to wrap in several layers and overlap and, of course, do not rush.

Knowing how to make a water bath at home, you can vary your menu not only with diet dishes. Preparation of many cakes, soufflé and cheesecakes will become due to her very ordinary business. So, you can arrange for your family a small holiday every day. And cooked steamed cutlets, fish and vegetables often look much more attractive than fried or stewed. And most importantly, they combine a tender taste and benefit in themselves, since they are prepared without the addition of oil.
