How to draw a palace - scenery for a puppet theater

Palaces are different - historical forts, fairy-tale castles or medieval citadels. Studying the past, reading a book about wizards with a child or watching a film in the genre of fantasy, you can ask the question: "How to draw a palace?"

To depict in all its splendor this building is capable of a man who is well versed in art, but to make scenery in the form of a fairy-tale castle for his own puppet theater is quite within everyone's power. And how much happiness home poses bring to children! Or maybe you want to just draw a picture of the baby with a picture of a fairy tale read at night? In any case, creativity with children is always productive and great for the development of the baby. So, let's look at how to draw a palace with a pencil.

Preparatory stage

To start the work, we will select all the necessary materials: paper, simple and colored pencils, an eraser, paints (gouache, watercolor) - and proceed to the image. How to draw a palace, what to take? First of all, it should be noted that it is a residential building of very complex architecture. Therefore, determining the place on the sheet, we must take into account the height of the roofs of the towers, which will be at different levels. For the correct placement of a picture on a sheet it is better to determine in advance how many tiers the building of the palace will have. In our case there are three.

It is best to place the future building in the middle of the sheet, quite a bit back from its lower part. To start work, draw a vertical line in the center of the imaginary image. Its top slightly deviate from the middle of the leaf. It will be the tallest tower of our building. At this preparatory stage is over. Let us proceed to create the building itself.

Image sequence

The main part of the towers near our castle will be round, and the roof - in the form of a cone. In order to consider how to draw a palace with a pencil, we will gradually decompose the process:

  1. First, let's designate the roof of the central turret, since this will be the highest point of the palace. It is a figure resembling a triangle, but with slightly concave lateral faces and a semicircular bottom. With the help of such an image, we will specify the volume of our tower.
  2. Similarly, draw a small triangle of the end of the additional turret a little to the left of the central turret, which is partially hidden behind it. Another similar figure will be placed below and the other one to the right of the central element.
  3. Now we have the upper level ready. Let's proceed to the distribution of the lower towers. To do this, we again use the vertical line and draw the roof in the center according to the previous scheme.
  4. To the left and to the right of it we will depict two more peaked peaks of the tower, which are a little behind.
  5. Now connect the straight lines that will represent the walls of the towers, the roof and the bottom of the picture.
  6. Draw the dashes and from the upper triangles as shown in the illustration.

If you follow the order of how to draw a palace in stages, by this time you should already have the foundation of the future building. To complete it, it takes very little: select small elements and add colors, so continue.

Drawing details

A distinctive feature of the fairy-tale palace is a lot of small details. To make our image more believable, we need to draw a window in all the turrets and a door that looks like a gate. They can be depicted as semicircular, rectangular and decorated with ornamentation, and in the window openings you can draw curtains. The result will be advantageous to differ if all the details are performed in the same style. That is, both windows and doors should be painted in a similar manner.

On the pointed tops of the roofs, you can draw a lot of flags. And how to draw a palace, so it was clear who lives there? Everything is very simple! At your discretion, you can depict not only flags fluttering in the wind, but, for example, asterisks and the moon (and then you get the castle of an astrologer or a wizard). Or maybe it will be snowflakes or ice crystals? It will be very similar to the house of the snow queen.

Shutdown

At the final stage of the work, all the auxiliary lines are deleted, the background is drawn - the terrain in which the lock is located. It can be the green hills and the garden surrounding the palace. Or is your building located on a high cliff, at the very edge of the abyss, against the background of azure sky? Here everything depends on imagination. The last part of the work is adding a tone - for this you can use color pencils, watercolor or gouache paints or wax crayons.

Well, you know how to draw a palace, which will be an excellent setting for puppet shows or will realize dreams about a fairy tale.
