The presence of starch molasses in honey is determined as follows. Dilute it with distilled water and add to this mixture a drop of ammonia. If this component is present, the mixture will turn white with a tinge of brown.

You can also determine the presence of chalk. In the same solution of honey and distilled water, add a drop of vinegar. If the chalk is present, a quenching reaction will occur due to the release of carbon dioxide. This action can be done without diluting honey with water.

Check the presence of sugar in this product in this way. We put honey in water (distilled or boiled) to get a liquid solution. There should be no foreign matter in it. It should be clear and free of sediment. After this, it is necessary to drop a little solution of silver nitrate into it . If the product is natural, the solution will remain clear. If sugar was added, there will be slight turbidity.

You can also check honey for impurities. When dissolving it in boiled water, the liquid remains transparent.

And the last way. It is necessary to drop a little honey on the paper, and then burn it. The natural delicacy does not burn, does not melt, does not change its color. Otherwise it was diluted with sugar.

To buy this product, you need to know how to check the quality of honey. Buy it only from reliable vendors or from beekeepers. If you are not sure about its quality, then take a small amount for the sample. Do not buy this product along the slopes. In this case the probability of presence in it of substances harmful to an organism is great.
