Heating system of a two-story house: choose the best to make it warm

First of all, it should be noted that today one-story country houses are a rarity. Most of the cottages are built in two or three floors. Of course, two-storeyed houses are the most common: in comparison with single-storey houses there is much more living space, and in comparison with three-storey houses they are built faster and cheaper, including due to a much less powerful basement.

However, the heating system of a two-story house must cope with the heating of all premises with the onset of cold weather. For this, it must be appropriately arranged. Therefore, with the scheme of the heating system should be determined before the construction of the house.

There is a great temptation to choose a scheme with a natural circulation of the coolant, since such a heating system of a two-story house is independent of electricity. However, in order for it to work, it will be necessary to use large diameter pipes in the communications and to carry out wiring under the slope. These disadvantages may eventually outweigh the "energy" plus.

The scheme of the heating system of a two-story house with forced circulation of the coolant is optimal: the water does not stagnate anywhere and evenly enters all radiators. It is understood that in the house or under it there will be installed a boiler operating on wood, coal, kerosene, natural gas or electricity, an expansion tank, a collector, and a circulation pump directly responsible for the circulation of water in the communications.

It should, however, seriously think about what material they will be made of.

Of course, and up to the two-story cottages reached the "polymer revolution". Polypropylene pipes are not only the convenience of non-welded installation (which can be performed without professional qualification), but also the impossibility of internal salt and lime deposits, corrosion resistance. One problem: the polymer has a large coefficient of thermal expansion, which causes deformation of polypropylene pipes and can lead to leakage at the junctions. This defect was tried to eliminate by reinforcement with a thin aluminum layer. Indeed, metal-plastic pipes are almost insensitive to thermal expansion, but such pipes and fittings, to put it mildly, are not cheap.

More difficult to install pipes made of stainless or galvanized steel: you need welding or reliable threaded connections, and all operations must be performed by qualified specialists. They cost more than polypropylene, tend to overgrowth, and their service life is low.

The heating system of a two-story house can be built on the basis of copper pipes, if the owner of the mansion has enough for this facility. For their installation, high-temperature brazing and solder with silver content are used. However, the benefits from copper communications ultimately exceed their cost: they are resistant to high temperatures and high pressure, do not overgrow and do not rust, they can be tightly sealed in the walls of the house. Service life of at least half a century.

Typically, for heating two-story houses offer single-tube and two-pipe wiring systems. But the single-tube heating system of a two-story house does not have any possibilities for regulating the temperature in the room - it is impossible to cover one of the radiators while others are working, and hot water, passing from one battery to another, can reach the last one already cooled.

It is quite another matter if one pipe receives hot water from the system, while the other one, already cooled, leaves for another heating. This two-pipe heating system of a two-story house is universal. In this case, it becomes possible to separately adjust the heat transfer of each radiator by increasing or decreasing the flow of water passing through it. Advantages of such a system slightly reduces the double set of pipes laid at the same time.

Absolutely universal scheme of water heating of a two-story cottage does not exist, in each specific case it will have to be selected individually. The ultimate goal of such selection is obvious: the most rational warming up of housing.
