Grenade launcher "Boer": features, tactical and technical characteristics, application
The grenade launcher "Boer" is a new word in the production of military equipment. It was developed and adopted in service in 2014, having already proved itself from the best side. "Boer" is used to destroy unarmored equipment and the enemy's manpower, and its relatively small weight in combat proves to be an unquestionable advantage.
History of creation and production
The development of a new grenade launcher was carried out by the design bureau of instrument-making in the city of Tula. The model was based on the German grenade launcher Panzerfaust and the Russian infantry flamethrower "Shmel".
In the 80-ies of the twentieth century design bureau them. Academician A. G. Shipunov developed a 93-mm complex "Shmel". In addition to the combat flamethrower, specialists also created adaptations for training shooting to the RPG grenade launcher.
The reactive flamethrower "Shmel" underwent significant modernization, the purpose of which was to expand the capabilities of weapons, which must combat the modern technical equipment of the enemy most effectively. On the basis of "Shmel" was developed a new version - flamethrower with increased power and range RPO-M PDM-A, and easier - "Shmel-M".
Later this model served as the basis for the development of a new small-size grenade launcher complex. For the first time it was demonstrated to the public at the INTERPOLITEX exhibition. It happened in the autumn of 2013. The high ratings of Russian specialists encouraged the developers to demonstrate new weapons at the EUROSATORY-2014, which was held in Paris. Visitors were presented a unique development of Russian designers - Reactive grenade launcher "Boer".
At present, the production of these weapons is set up at the Tula Military Plant. Belarusian holding company BelOMO has developed and created for the new grenade launcher several special types of sights: day, night and thermal imaging.
Device
The grenade launcher "Boer" consists of two main parts:
- The missile engine body made of fiberglass;
- Trigger device for ammunition, including trigger, pistol grip, manual fuse, forged with ribbed structure, bracket for setting range finders or optical sights.
For the transfer of missile engine housings a special backpack bag is provided, designed for three cases. The grenade launcher is transported with a special strap attached to the body.
Complex advantages
- Different types of shots can be used;
- Suitable sights of different types, they vary depending on the conditions;
- Ammunition is highly effective, despite the relatively small weight and size;
- Grenade launcher "Boer", the characteristics of which do not require a significant space for fire, can be used even in small rooms with an area of 30 m³;
- Safe handling and reliable in battle;
- It is designed to fire from positions from the knee, lying, standing;
- Convenient for transportation, can be used for airborne disposal.
Unprecedented light weight makes "Boer" simply irreplaceable. It can be used by fighters of special purpose units and subversive and reconnaissance groups. The calculation of this grenade launcher complex consists of only one person. The recharging procedure takes a few seconds and is carried out by a single fighter.
Shells
The grenade launcher "Boer" can use high-explosive fragmentation and thermobaric grenades. Caliber shells - 62 mm. In order to recharge the complex, the installation must be placed in a new engine casing, after removing it from the empty casing.
Thermobaric garnets are characterized by the creation of extreme temperatures in a certain volume, the consequence of which is a powerful blast wave. This makes it possible to inflict significant damage on enemy infantry, destroy fortifications, disable even lightly armored vehicles.
Tactical and technical characteristics
The grenade launcher "Boer", whose TTX has several unique features, immediately after the appearance became a subject of special attention of professionals. The maximum mortar range of the gun is 950 meters, and the minimum distance at which you can hit the target is 25 meters. When using an optical sight, the "Burom" armed fighter is able to target fire from a distance of up to 650 meters. The starting device with an optical sight has a mass of up to 1.5 kg.
The "Boer" grenade launcher with a thermobaric warhead can be used for combat at ambient temperatures ranging from -40 to + 60 ° C. The launcher is designed for at least five hundred shots. It is established that the grenade launcher "Boer" has the following accuracy of shooting at a distance of two hundred meters:
- Deviation in height (Вв) - ≤ 0,5;
- Deviation to the sides (Vb) - ≤ 0,5.
Boer in service
At present, the tests of the "Bur" grenade launcher have been successfully completed. This weapon proved to be quite effective, due to which it was decided to put it into service with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Its divisions of various purposes are used, first of all, landing troops, special forces, infantry.
Competitor
First of all, it should be noted that the grenade launcher "Boer" is unique in its kind. Its only nearest competitor is the German Panzerfaust 3. This anti-tank grenade launcher is recharged approximately in the same way as used for recharging the "Boer" complex. Both guns use the same shells and have the same caliber. In principle, on this all the similarities between them and ends.
