Gomel: attractions, which are not equal

Every Belarusian city deserves a separate story, special attention and research of its sights. Belarus is a hospitable country, which refers to foreign travelers is very welcome.

Each city has its own history, its own charms. Many played a significant role in the development of other states located in the neighborhood. Take, for example, Gomel, whose sights measure its age for several centuries. The city has stood for eight centuries, being a cozy home for hardworking people. The palace is located on the amazingly picturesque bank of the Sozh River. Literally from the very beginning it was like a museum, so rich and unique was its decoration. Today there are expositions of the Kunsthistorisches Museum: handwritten and old printed books, numismatic, ethnographic and archaeological collections, religious objects, memorial things of the noble family, paintings of local artists of different eras.

A wooden hunting lodge - the summer residence of the Paskevichs - is a log cabin in the Empire style. Interior decoration and interiors correspond to the time when the building was built. A variety of exhibitions are held regularly here.

If the story does not delight you, then there are other interesting places that Gomel prepared for you. Its attractions - a nineteenth-century winter garden in which exotic flowers and exotic plants grow all year round, the Peter and Paul Cathedral, built in the style of neoclassicism. Architect Clark built a temple on a high promontory, so he can be seen far away. In this area there are several other sacred places: the Ilyinsky Church, the St. Nicholas Monastery and the St. Nicholas Church.
