Forgotten lavatera - growing a wild rose

Lavater's pink was at the peak of popularity in the last century. A beautiful tall plant decorated many country estates. People admired the meter-high stems with an abundance of large flowers and large leaves planted in groups. Today, the lava, or, as it is called in the people, a wild rose, hathma, is reborn again.

An unjustly forgotten plant belongs to the Malvian family and has only 26 species. In nature, it is common in North America, Australia, Central Asia and Europe. In Russia, the flower is also known for a long time. Today, from an inconspicuous plant, wonderful new species of lava-terriers are brought out.
One-, two- and perennial varieties are represented by rhizome herbaceous species up to 130 cm high, which grow beautiful bushes with dense foliage. In decorative gardening, varieties such as the Thuringian lava and the three-month lava are used.

The first species is a high erect perennial of two-meter height. Dark pink flowers five centimeters in diameter are stunning from the end of June to October. Huge inflorescences occupy half the height of the whole plant and are able to decorate any place.

The three-month lavater is an annual plant with a strong root system, which forms a branching bush of meter height. With its large tender carmine, pink or white flowers, it looks great on summer beds or flower beds. There are also undersized varieties (mixed Lavender, pink beauty), which will be pleased in the summer with purple, bright pink colors.
