Fishing for the Net: Tips

In our country for many years it was believed that a person fishing with a net is a poacher and needs punishment. Over the past decades, there have been major changes. Fisherman, who wants to use nets for fishing, can take a permit and use this method on water bodies quite calmly. All fishing equipment is sold legally in specialized stores.

Preparing to catch the net in winter

Winter fishing attracts many fishermen by tricky procedures. In the cold season the fish moves from the coast to the middle part of the reservoir. It is less active than in spring. When going fishing, you should scrupulously select the rigging, gear and feed.

In winter, fish and nets, but not very often. With this method of fishing there are features that must be taken into account. How to fish with a net under ice, will be discussed below.

When installing gear, take into account the specificity of the reservoir, namely the relief of the bottom, and it is under the ice and hidden from the eyes of the fisher.

Choose a place

When choosing it, you should pay attention to the following:

  • The pond should be a large lake or a large, wide river.
  • Establish a network closer to the middle of the river, lake or other body of water. The fish in the winter is at a depth, escaping from the cold, where there is food in the muddy ground. Closer to the spring of the network, on the contrary, set near the shore, where the fish moves, so that it is easier to breathe water saturated with oxygen.
  • At the bottom of the reservoirs there should be no snags, trees and other objects.
  • On the selected area, the ice surface is cleaned of snow.

Preparing a hole

The place where fishing will take place by the network is chosen and prepared, it's time to drill an ice hole:

  1. On the cleared ice mark marks, they are usually two, which are equal to the length of the network.
  2. In the marked places make two ice holes, one meter long, half a meter wide. Their shape should resemble a rectangle. The name of such an ice-hole was "mine". Cut the ice with a pile or chainsaw.
  3. In addition, two holes are drilled between the holes at a distance of 3 m from each other.
  4. The edges of the holes are slightly expanded and neatly trimmed to prevent further damage to the network.

Additional accessories

The preparatory work is done, it remains to put the network. To do this, you first need:

  • A 10 m long pole (the distance between the lanes);
  • Gon (otherwise called a rope), about 60 m;
  • Sewed (or two sticks) in length of two meters, in order to correct the network in the holes.

Ways to install networks

Fishing for fish in the winter provides several ways to install gear. Some fishermen cut the hole in a form resembling a rectangle of large sizes, and hunt the net as in the summer. It's convenient, but not safe, especially when it's thin ice. Let's consider in more detail how to fish a network on the river And how to install under the ice network.

The first way

In the lane they put a pole together with a rope. The cargo is tied to its lower part, and the rope to the top. The pole is moved under ice, correcting its position in the intermediate holes.

One fisherman runs the net under the ice, and the other pulls the rope from the side of the pole. In the intermediate holes observe the passage of the poles. From the last lane the pole is pulled out and tied to sticks that are laid across the holes. In order to avoid freezing of the network to the ice, a foam is attached to the selection from above.

It is difficult and difficult to choose a wet fish net from the water. When setting up new networks, their dryness is a prerequisite. Fishing with a net on the river does not allow drilling additional holes. The pole will swim with the flow of the reservoir. When catching the first ice, the network can be traced through it, tying a foam buoy to the tackle. Instead of knots on tackle establish carbines - it will facilitate work.

The second way

Cut 5-7 square holes with a side length of 0.5 m. Use a wire instead of a pole. To her tied a thick rope coming from the net, and dragged under the ice. In the water the network itself is straightened. The elongated end of the wire is attached to a stick and fixed to the back wall of the well.

The third way

Make a few square holes with a side of 0.5 m. In the first lane, lower the rope with a tied load and drag through each subsequent hole with sticks with hooks. The ends of the ropes from the last and first holes are knotted. The network is attached to the upper part of the received ring and, taking the rope, is lowered into the water. For greater activity, the fish are knocked on the ice with a tin can.

Fishing with torpedo

Fishing under the ice becomes less laborious with the use of a device called a torpedo. This is a tapered device made of metal, helping the fisherman to stretch a rope with a fishing tackle under the ice. It can be used when the thickness of the ice does not exceed one meter. In this case, through the ice, the identification signals of the device are visible. It weighs only one kilogram, which allows you to take it with you for winter fishing. For its use in the ice make two holes, one of which will trigger the torpedo, and the other exit to the surface.

The device consists of a hollow cylinder having:

  • Compartment with eight batteries;
  • Two lights that signal the movement of gear;
  • Two wheels with sharp teeth, clinging to the surface of the ice when moving.

Fishing in winter is realized by a uniform method. The main thing to do is put the tackle. Next, you should wait until the fish gets entangled in the net, swim to the bait.

While waiting, we recommend that you monitor the traps from time to time. It is very difficult to put the tackle alone. Fishing for nets is a group hunt.

How to make a kerchief

Basically, fishermen with trepidation refer to winter fishing and experiment, using different tackles and trying different ways of fishing. Sometimes they use a "kerchief". It has a good reputation when used in the first half of winter hunting and at the end of winter fishing. Make it simple:

  • From a fishing net with cells from 2 to 5 cm, an isosceles triangle is cut out. The size of cells is selected depending on the size of the fish, which they plan to catch.
  • On the base of the triangle received, fix the metal rod or thick wire that will serve as a sinker.
  • The rope is dragged through a loop made at the top of the triangle. Using it, the tackle is lowered into the pond and raised. Kapron thread sewing the sides

Fishing for a "kerchief"

For a good bite, fish should be fed. To do this, prepare the feed yourself or buy ready in a specialized store. The fish in the winter is at a depth and hides in the pits, so it should be lowered to the very bottom. The bait must be of good quality and not crumble before it sinks to its destination:

  1. The kerchief should be immersed in the water.
  2. After plunging the scarf, the rope is fixed on the surface of the ice with a transverse stick.
  3. The hole is masked with brushwood and snow in order to protect the fish from the rays of the sun and noise.

In winter, in places where roach and perch are found, "kerchiefs" are catching gear, especially on the first ice, when the fish is still very active, and in the spring thaw.

How to fish with a net on an elastic band?

Gear appeared recently, it's called a network with a rubber shock absorber, and there are almost no differences from catching a donk with a shock absorber.

A heavy load, to which the rubber thread is attached, the fisherman throws into the pond. Eraser, gradually cutting, brings into the water a mesh net, which is planted on two strings: floating and cargo. The network does not take part in the casting of participation. The elastic band and the line are connected by two metal carbines.

After casting, the carabiners are unfastened and fastened to the hinges, which are located at the ends of the pontoon cord. The weight of the carbines is balanced by two float floats that support the network in the water in the form of a rectangle.

The size of the cells of the network is in direct proportion to what fish are going to catch. The network has a height of 1.5 meters, and a length of 7 meters, if thrown from the shore.

There is another design, where a nylon thread is used instead of a cargo and a pontoon cord. Vertically, the network stretches the slats, and horizontally - the tension of the line and gum.

Gnase, made by the second method, exerts less resistance when tightened into a pond. This makes it possible to use longer, up to 20 m, networks. Apply them only in stagnant waters, because any current bends the slats to the bottom.

Fishing with a small-sized net gives a rich catch only to those who know well the pond and habits of the fish that live in it. You can use a network and large sizes, but in this case, the rubber should be 4 times longer, and the cargo is thrown from the boat.

In shallow water bodies, the cargo is sometimes not used. In this case, to the wire ring, which is put on the stake, driven into the shore, on the contrary, attach the shock absorber from the rubber. With this method, it does not stop when the cargo is pulled out of the reservoir. In other cases, put a small piece of fishing line, the reliability of which is half the stability of the rubber shock absorber, between the load and rubber. But this measure does not always protect the shock absorber from the rupture.

The bell will tell you that the fish is lost in the grid. Leaving a tackle unattended does not make sense, because one caught fish can confuse the network and the rest will not get there.

Fishing with a net with a rubber band is very convenient on small ponds located not far from big cities, where there is a congestion of fishermen.

Care of networks

Networks made from even the most advanced materials lose their strength for three reasons:

  • Physical - temperature difference, load, ultraviolet rays;
  • Chemical - from the decomposition of fish scales and mucus;
  • Microbiological - dead fish, which for a long time remains in the nets, uncleared remnants, damaged tackle.

Fishermen with experience point out that the fish go reluctantly to unclean networks, and in warm times in places where there is no current, does not go at all. Strong pollution is most affected by networks of linen and cotton yarn, the most resistant to impurities are nylon and monofilament nets.

Fishing by the net will be successful if it is checked at least twice a day. With a small number of fish caught in the net, fishermen often get it out without pulling the tackle to the shore. After 4 days, the tackle should be removed to the land, carefully cleaned from all sewage and rinsed in running clean water.

Anglers from Karelia recommend to smoke nets from kapron with smoking fir branches. They argue that the catches from this increase dramatically.

After the end of the fishing season, the network is dried in a place protected from direct sunlight. Clean-headed fishermen, before removing gear for long-term storage, wash them with soap. After drying, the network is folded so that the next season can quickly prepare it for work.

So we looked at how to fish with a net. A variety of methods and a large number of fish species predetermined the appearance of many types of networks and methods for their installation. They can be placed near the bottom, along it or at an angle, at a certain depth and at the surface of the reservoir.
