English detectives. What is their popularity?
As soon as we see the inscription "English detectives" in the bookshop, immediately come to mind such great writers as Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Gilbert Chesterton, Fleming Yan. There is nothing surprising, because this is the gold standard of this genre. Many of us from the very childhood admire the outstanding mind of Sherlock Holmes, his ability to solve the most difficult secrets. Fans detective with a sinking heart watched the investigations of Hercule Poirot, on the bedside table there was always a place for books with the adventures of the legendary James Bond.
English detectives are considered to be the best, original standard of this genre. Of course, there are a lot of talented authors among Americans, Europeans, Australians, New Zealanders. The genius of the writer is not dependent on nationality, but still works created in England, filled with some kind of mysticism, they are more interesting and rich storyline, the original ending. Interestingly, the very term "detective" was coined by a woman named Anna Greene. Prior to the release of the first books about Sherlock Holmes, she was already a famous writer.
Top British detectives are not limited to the works of Artura Konan Doyle and Agatha Christie, though their fame has not faded to this day. In this genre, wrote Charles Dickens, many through its Inspector Bucket from "Bleak House." Edgar Po is considered to be the ancestor of this genre. It was this writer who first introduced such important components as crime and intricate incidents. English detectives at one time made a real sensation among the wealthy. The rich bought books and read books filled with terrible events. Readers along with the characters experience all the fears and doubts, together trying to find the answer to the question - who is the culprit.
One important feature is absolutely all English detectives. Books of different writers are united by a genre that puts the reader in perplexity. At the beginning of the story everything seems prosaic and simple, it is already possible to identify the alleged killer, but in the end everything is turned upside down, because the perpetrator is a hero, who could be thought of as the last resort. Under the detective means not just an investigation, but a whole bunch of intricate puzzles. Many talented writers knew how to keep the reader in suspense until the very end, to make them feel emotions together with the characters, sometimes it seemed that you were standing right next to them and watching the unfolding events.
