Ebola River in Africa

In the central part of Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), the former French colony, is located. Its capital is Kinshasa. The province is located along the southern coast of the Congo River. This is the only deep-water river crossing the equator twice. It is the second longest in Africa after the Nile. The bed of Ebola flows into the main Congo.

Geographical position

Where is the Ebola River? It flows in the northern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The right tributary of the Ebola is the River Two. The name "Ebola" is appropriated to the river by the French colonists who seized the lands of Africa in the past centuries. From French to the local dialect the name of the reservoir is translated as "white water".

In the middle reaches of Ebola, three kilometers from its left bank, is the settlement of Abumombazi. Residents of the tribe inhabiting there believe in legends and revere local gods. Further along the river there are other villages, such as Mogwaka, Boter and Tobinga. Many of the Congo's tribes are Christians, but the African continent is mostly inhabited by Muslim nations.

On the banks of the reservoir grow tropical trees and green shrubs that feed on its moisture. The current is moderate, the water is fresh. In the waters of the White River there live huge predatory tiger fish-goliaths. These are predators. They hunt fish, various animals that live in water, and even crocodiles. Other fish live in the river:

This is due to the fact that in Africa, hot weather lasts almost a year, so dangerous viruses and bacteria multiply in warm water. Because of the hot climate, rains often occur on the territory of the Republic of the Congo (Zaire). The Ebola River flows and leaves the banks. Along it grow dense impenetrable thickets. People can not pass through them, there live wild animals that can hide in dense forests and live away from a person. Due to the fact that some wild animals are huge, a legend about a terrible monster has appeared. Local residents say that it originated in the Congo River and, although it has a small growth, can attack hippos and humans. This monster swims across all water bodies, whose channels are connected to the main river. Some residents say that he has a long neck and the whole body is covered with scales, others, on the contrary, say that the animal is small and has sharp teeth.

Perhaps in African rivers there is a considerable amount of unexplored fish and mammals. Scientists believe that unknown species should be caught for study. But tribal residents are afraid of doing this, believing that they can perish or bring on the wrath of the gods.

Extraction of diamonds

The Ebola River in Africa is located in such a way that there are oil and gas fields nearby. Diamonds are often found in the pond. The inhabitants of Abumombazi village are engaged in mining of the mineral. To do this, they use conventional tools: washing trays and shovels. To date, the inhabitants of the Republic of the Congo are expelling from their territory the American Red Cross and refuse to vaccinate allegedly from a deadly disease.

They believe that the Americans are trying to seize the Ebola River at any cost, if only its diamonds were left to them alone.

Ecology of the river

The discharge of waste and sewage is one of the causes of river pollution in the Republic of Congo. Despite the fact that the country produces diamonds, oil and other minerals, it still remains poor and can not afford cleaning facilities. Due to poor ecology and dangerous tiger fishes, bathing in Ebola for tourists is prohibited. But local residents, not paying attention to the prohibitions, still enjoy the water, especially the children, who bathe in any places, without fear for life. For tourists, beaches are opened directly on the Atlantic coast, where it is safe and clean.
