Actors Mashkov and Shukshin in this project played a divorced couple. Olga threw her husband - musician Alexei - because she did not consider him a promising man. But Lesha did not even hurt this, but that the woman took his little daughter with her to the US. After it, he goes to the States.

It turns out that little Ann does not mind living with Dad. However, it is not a chance to arrange this legally. Then Alexei abducts his daughter by mutual consent and is sent along with her to the Mexican border. They can not reach their destination because the girl is sick. We have to surrender to the authorities. But in the finals, little Ann kidnaps his father from an American prison and intends to transport him to Russia.

Alison Whitbeck, who starred in Shakhnazarov's drama, is a real American. The girl was born in the city of Pleasanton and got completely by accident in the cast of the movie "American daughter".

Actors Mashkov and Whitbeck played a father and daughter, once separated. Ann's mother married again, now for a rich American. However, when their real father appears in their house, she reaches out to him. Ann realizes that living with Alexei will be good for her, so she decides to take a desperate step and escapes with him. Since the hero Mashkova does not know English, Ann practically becomes his interpreter.

In the finals it turns out that the father and daughter made a mistake with the direction and arrived not in the city they planned to go to. To reach the necessary point they are no longer fated - they are found by the police. But at the first opportunity, Ann runs away from her mother and on a helicopter steals her father from prison to fly with him to her historic homeland.

Meanwhile, the artist Maria Shukshina played in Shakhnazarov's film an atypical role for herself - a bitchy and rather pragmatic woman. She, without batting an eyelid, separates her daughter from her own father. Then he finds himself a wealthy couple in the face of an American Archie. When Alexei comes to see Anne in the US, the heroine of Shukshina is repairing various obstacles. And even when Alexei was already caught by the police, she is trying to blackmail him and force her to give up her daughter.

Maria Shukshina came into the acting profession late. In the "American daughter" she acted in film, when she was already 28 years old. At that time in the arsenal, she had only three films: in the films "Stoves-benches", "Birds over the City" and "Eternal Husband." Much later, Shukshina became the star of the series "Dear Masha Berezina", "Brezhnev", "The Adventures of the Magician" and "His Stranger".
