Description, photo, way of life of a hermit-spider

Since then, when the first spider appeared on planet Earth, it has already been about 400 million years. At the moment there are more than forty thousand species. Spiders are not insects, it is a separate class and a separate unit - arachnids.

In the Spider Detachment and in the class of the Arachnids there is a family of poisonous creatures - hermit spiders. They pose a great danger to humans, since their bite is invisible, and the poison is very toxic. The most poisonous of this family is the brown (or brown) hermit spider. If your place of residence is located where this harmful creature lives, you need to be able to recognize it.

Brown hermit spider

One of this family is brown, or spider brown (hermit), the photo is presented below. These creatures are distinguished by their toxic poison. After the bite of an insect in this place, complete necrosis of the tissues takes place. "Lucky", who were lucky to have such a neighbor as a brown spider (hermit), are residents of the eastern United States.

This poisonous creation of nature can not be attributed to the most friendly individuals, but, nevertheless, it is characterized by activity and moderately intrusive character. Perhaps the brown hermit spider would have remained an unremarkable arthropod to this day, but the strange quality of its poison attracted the attention of scientists. Professor Binford explains that these spiders use their poison for about 120 million years.

The habitat of the eight-legged "monster"

This species of spiders are found on the lands of the middle west of the USA, up to the Gulf of Mexico. In California, they have not yet reached, but representatives of the genus Looseness in those places reside. In Hawaii, there is a red hermit-spider (see photo below). He is a relative of the eight-legged "monster".

Global warming can cause the migration of this species of arachnids further north. So get acquainted with its representatives in detail will be just the way. Currently, Georgia, the Mediterranean and the southern part of Russia are considered favorable habitats for the hermit spider.

Spiders like to hide in the roots of trees, in animal holes, in general, where there are shady places. Over time, the hermit spider is increasingly found in the garage, basement, toilet and attic rooms, as well as in sewers. Hermits began to behave like full-fledged neighbors of people, settling in apartments and houses.

Appearance of a small hermit

The brown spider is small in size. When the legs are in a straightened form, the length of his body is 6-20 mm. This deadly hermit spider is not always an opportunity to notice, because it is very small. Female are larger in size than males.

The body is predominantly brown in color, sometimes it is possible to meet gray and dark yellow individuals. The brown hermit spider is also called the violin. This was facilitated by the fact that the drawing, located on the head and chest, very much resembles this musical instrument.

A distinctive feature of this species is the presence of 6 eyes instead of 8. On the abdominal part and legs, small sensitive hairs can be seen. The legs of the hermit spider are rather long and thin. When it is in a calm state, the paws are widely spaced.

Lifestyle

In the way of life, brown hermit creepers refer to night predators. They are engaged in the production of food in the dark. Males come out of their webs and go to night raids to investigate distant territories. Females do not do it very willingly, they usually prefer to hunt near their home. The remaining time of the night, the little hunters are sitting in a secluded place.

Food for the brown hermit spider is all that falls into the traps, the role of which is played by the web. The prey is mostly small insects and other spiders. To get food for hermits is not difficult, for this great work is not required. Before scientists there is an unsolved mystery about why nature gave this insect a potent poison. Eight-legged "monsters" live quietly, without need of anyone do not touch.

Reproduction

The female of the brown hermit spider, choosing a secluded place away from prying eyes, begins to lay eggs in white cocoon pouches. In each such cocoon, woven by the female from the web in person, there are 40-50 eggs. The size of the pouch is about 7.5 mm in diameter.

At the birth of numerous young calves, the brown hermit spider grows up a lot of growth before growing up. They change their outfit 5-8 times. These creatures painfully endure such a procedure, it is unpleasant for them. It is possible that this is why hermits are angry and bite hard.

The spider's loose garment is quite hard, it can be stored for a long time in the ground. Experienced specialists use it for identification during the study of insects of this species. In natural conditions, a brown hermit spider can live 2-4 years.

The bite of a hermit spider is a danger to humans

For humans, the most terrible animals, oddly enough, are poisonous spiders. They can quietly get close to their victim and put "a blow in the back." It is clear that there are no willing to be in its place! In one row among the most dangerous arthropods in the world are hermit spiders. The venom of these animals is delayed action, its manifestation can be seen only a few hours after the bite. At first, a person feels a slight tingling or burning sensation. Then everything will depend on how much poison has got into the body. In the event that it got a lot, after 5-6 hours the place of the bite will start to swell and a blister will appear. The following signs appear:

• Failures in the work of the heart.
• Problems with the intestines (frustration).
• An importunate cough and runny nose.

Often after a spider bite, tissue necrosis develops . It is promoted by the maintenance in a poison of set of enzymes. Necrosis of the subcutaneous tissue tightens the healing process for a long three years. It is possible that a bite can lead to the death of the victim, which is often observed in young children and the elderly.

Precautionary measures

Although this is a poisonous creature and non-aggressive, if it is disturbed, there is no need to wait for mercy: it bites - so it bites! It is better to avoid this situation in time and protect yourself from the deadly poison. To do this, follow the following recommendations:

• Carefully clean the house, removing the spider web in time.
• Do not allow the formation of cracks in the walls, if they appear - immediately cover or caulk.
• Before you put on any things, you need to carefully inspect them.
• Before entering the bed, it is also necessary to inspect the bed.
• Under the bed there should not be trash and boxes, but it must be placed not close to the wall.

If you adhere to the above rules, it is quite realistic to avoid attacking a dangerous creature that can bring big trouble.

Needed help with a brown spider bite

When the brown spider bites, you should do everything possible without delay to stop the spread of the poison. You can put ice on the bite place. It is imperative to carry out the treatment of the wound with one of the antiseptics and, of course, seek medical help.

Earlier during the treatment, the damaged area of the skin was surgically removed. Currently, the therapy is carried out with the help of antibiotics. If a person turns on time, inject serum.
