The day of the investigator as a professional holiday appeared quite recently - in 2013, on August 27, the government of the Russian Federation signed a resolution on this matter. And now, starting from 2014, the country annually celebrates this holiday.

History of the holiday

In our country, almost every profession has its own day. But the investigative bodies serving the FSB did not have a professional holiday. This, of course, is terribly unfair! After all, the very first with the rescue service for all incidents necessarily go these people, sometimes risking their lives, regardless of the weather and time.

And the question was solved in 2013. Finally, the Day of Investigators was appointed on July 25. This date is fixed, not tied to the days of the week, as it happens with most professional holidays. So why did the Russian government order to celebrate the Day of Investigators on July 25?

Choosing a holiday date for serious professionals is not an idle business

It was not difficult, but the question of when the Day of the investigator should be celebrated, was decided, and all thanks to ... Peter the Great. Or rather, his personal decree, which saw the light in 1713, just on July 25. He called it this way: "On the creation of the investigative office of the Guards Major MI Volkonsky."

And this was the first Russian state body that was subordinate only to the head of state, and no one else. The "Major" office, as it was immediately dubbed by the employees themselves, was given the authority to conduct preliminary investigations into the most dangerous corruption acts.

Today, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, like it was under Peter the Great, is not part of the structure of any state authority, so that its employees can remain objective and impartial, examining the affairs of even high-ranking statesmen.

Before the official recognition of the professional day on July 25, there was another date - April 6. It was on this day that all employees of the investigative bodies received congratulations.

And although since 2014 the government set a specific date, when all people related to the investigative apparatus of Russia, celebrate their professional holiday, many in the old manner celebrate also on April 6. And what? More is not less.
